I really like my apartment, but I could do without the staff. As has been noted, they are rude and unhelpful. Not a single appliance worked when I moved in in spite of being told "everything was new." Within the first week, they were here to fix the fridge, stove and dryer. I didn't try to use the dishwasher for a few months and when I did, it did not work either. The front burner on the stove still does not work unless I jiggle it. The maintenance guy is great! Super friendly and easy going. Good thing because we are on a first name basis as he is frequently here to fix the appliances. I don't think it is that his workmanship is poor, I think the appliances are cheap. You can only work with what you are given and I do understand that. My fridge is once again not working (for the 4th time since I moved in in June- that is almost 5 months, but who is counting?)) and it is Saturday. I was informed that no one can replace my fridge until Monday. So I guess I get to throw out all of the food I just bought. I asked the gentleman at the office why and he replied they did not have the ability to buy a new one and they did not have an extra one on site. Monday is the best he could do. Just wondering how that would fly with the tenant who lives in my house back east? Someone wondered why there were bad reviews? Gee, I don't know. Not being able to fix or replace my fridge over the weekend is unacceptable to me. Guess the folks who were wondering about why the reviews were bad got lucky and all their appliances worked in their apartment! And maybe the manager is their friend and doesn't address them in a condescending manner. I lived at Kentwood apartments for almost a year. The staff was SUPER friendly and I had NOT ONE appliance issue! Granted, the appliances are older there, but at least they worked! I only moved because I ended up with a room mate and we wanted two bathrooms and a washer/dryer in our unit. The manager here at Vineyard Terrace is extremely rude and speaks to me like I am a toddler with a bad case of the terrible twos instead of an adult who pays her rent on time, which helps to pay her salary. She is much younger than I am and needs some instructions about how to speak to customers, not to mention her elders. I have called the corporate office and they are nicer, but not any more helpful. Can't wait until June when my lease is up. Have never been so anxious to move in my 45 years! Really wish I had visited this site and read the reviews before I signed! DON"T rent here!
