Renters beware! This apartment complex has very old galvanized pipes that are constantly leaking or bursting. The owners will not fix anything properly. They are only interested in cosmetic or temporary fixes meaning the whole place is a watery time bomb. They use clamps instead of replacing old worn out pipes with copper piping. Not all leaks are apparent immediately so they naturally have a serious mold problem too. Don t just take my word on it, turn on the faucets (especially if they haven t been used recently) and you ll see the brown / yellow water of rusty pipes pour out. All this mold and dampness also makes for a thriving bug population (House Centipedes, Silverfish, etc).
If that s not enough, this building has no insulation so it is blazing hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. This also makes for very noisy living (I ve heard my neighbor sigh with relief after using the bathroom!) It s also noisy from the endless construction since people are continually moving in and out. They say that this is a non-smoking apartment and that there are no pets allowed, but there is a giant ashtray at the front entrance and there have been dogs that the owners knew about since the tenants paid an additional pet deposit fee when they moved in (yet there is a No Pets Allowed sign right at the front gate).
They have an unusual amount of apartments available and a high turn over rate because no would stay here unless they had no other choice. Avoid any building owned by Lakeside Management!
