I actually stuck it out and moved back in after the fire. I've been here going on 3 years and I have to say that even though the cost vs. quality isn't completely worth it (I could be buying a damn house if I had good credit!), it's a decent place to live. Although the building looks old and the walls of the hallways and ceilings are slightly crooked and unsymetrical, you got to cut the place some slack, it survived the Northridge quake and a recent fire. Did I mention the security box still doesn't work and the mail boxes are hardly secure? I also would not recommend the jacuzzi. Management is awesome, I love Maria! She's been very helpful and understanding to situations. I rarely need anything repaired, but the few times I made requests they got on it immediately. Noise isn't much of an issue (then again, those of us in school are probably the noise makers). Nice neighborhood, nice people, I enjoy the area very much. I would recommend this place if you're going to have roommates, the apartments are really big, but not high enough in quality to compensate for the high rent. Oh yeah, and you pay ALL utilities! Expect $200 electric bills every two months (even without using AC). Ouch!
