Living at Villa Del Mar was the worst living experience I've ever had. We moved in mid October and in the first week of November there was a problem with a gas leak and we had no gas FOR THREE WEEKS! Yes, they did offer to cover a portion of the cost for small cooking/heating appliances up to $25 and they gave us a discount on the rent but it in no way made it right. I had to take freezing cold showers for 3 weeks. The apartment has gas stoves so we were unable to cook, not to mention the apartment was freezing. And it would of been one thing if that was the only inconvenience that we had while we lived there but it was far from it. They would randomly shut off the water with little to no notice. I had to go to work without showering several times. They also would come into the apartment whenever they wanted. They came in at least 6 times in the year and a half that I was there. Once they came in without notice (which is illegal) and when we called and asked about it they claimed that they left a notice and we must of not seen it. They also came in a second time illegally. They had left notice for one day and showed up a different day and when we asked about that the maintenance person just said "oh, they must of put the wrong date". And the giant cherry on top, we gave a $900 deposit. $300 of it was a pet deposit since I have a cat. About a month after I moved out instead of receiving a portion of my deposit back, I got an ADDITIONAL $300 charge. They claimed that they had to repaint and change the carpet of the apartment because when they lifted up the carpet it was "severely stained from cat pee" and according to Mayra the pee had penetrated the paint and it needed to be repainted. FIRST OF ALL, my cat is trained and didn't go around peeing everywhere. But of course she covered her --- with the documentation she needed so I couldn't fight it and I had to fork up the cash. Point is, THIS PLACE SUCKS! They'll rob you if your hard earned money. Stay far away!!!!
