Resident 2007 - 2011

6/29/2011

I've lived in Vintage in 2007, moved, then came back in 2010...not because I loved it, folks...because I had a friend who worked there and managed to snag a great price. That being said, if you don't have a friend who can do the same favor, stay away. Don't get me wrong: the apartments are nice (especially the northern buildings since those all seem to have water fountains and it's quite nice and serene, yet they forgot about the ones in the back and just stuck a few plants. It's EXTREMELY loud...you get morons on motorcycles and people in their souped up cars speeding back and forth (this is the I.E. folks, let's not forget) so if you're looking for R&R, do NOT get an apartment near 4th or Duesenberg. Parking. It's true...it's quite possibly the worst parking situation you'll ever encounter. Someone said that it's due to Ontario's ridiculous codes that they were alloted such a small amount of spaces (the apartments across the street have 0 problems with parking since it's technically Rancho Cucamonga and their codes were much looser. I actually went to those apartments with a friend and they had about a good 100 open spaces for parking; something Vintage [and the apartment down the street] would kill for). If you're a leper who doesn't have friends or family to come visit, then you'll be ok. But for the rest of us, it's a damn nightmare (even with the new implemented parking situation). If you're thinking about getting an apartment with a mountain view, I recommend you don't. Not only is it ultra loud (read the seconds paragraph), but it's also extremely dirty since the apartments are in front of a HUGE dust field...I haven't gone outside in months because it's so damn dusty. Sweeping helps...but not much. ALSO, if you're a fan of satellite TV, since most satellite providers require a south view and Vintage doesn't permit satellites to be installed so only the southern facing apartments can get it via their patio and a stand. The apartments themselves are really nice. They're ample, spacious, clean and having a washer and dryer in each apartment is absolutely divine. They're mighty expensive and sometimes I wonder how some of the residents that live there afford it (you'll see what I mean). All in all, try the apartments across the street from Target. They're about the same price but you'll have less of the hassles we Vintage residents have.
