Casa Ciento Apartments

I was looking at different apartment communities and came upon Casa Ciento. The complex is located in a decent area of Orange and close to the Village. Driving up to the complex is a little unarming, cars are parked bumper to bumper up and down both sides of the street. The complex is clean and quiet, as far as I could tell. The manager (cannot remember her name) was nice. She expressed her wish to move into one of the apartments. The manager took me into an upstairs 2 bedroom unit. The unit was nice but it had a wall unit A/C. When I remarked about the rent being so high and the apartments not including central air the manager blew me off as if I was asking for gold plated plumbing fixtures. The view out the back of the apartment was of the parking lot and the lower unit's backyard which seemed to me as though they were competing in a "Who has the most furniture in their yard" contest. There were a large amount of washers and dryers in the communal laundry, however, they were old and looked as though they would make your clothes more dirty instead of cleaning them. The manager quoted me $1450 for the first 6 months of the lease and then $1650 for the last six months. I thought this was a little steep seeing as how the apartment did not have central A/C and only came with 1 reserved parking spot. I was also amazed that the management would charge an extra $400 dollar deposit for an animal and add on $60 to the monthy rent for that animal. A few days later I saw an add for Casa Ciento advertising the same 2 bed/1 bath apartment for $1400 for a 1 year lease. The manager has been hounding me about my application and when I will be able to get it to her yet she has still made no mention of the "special". The community was not bad but after reading the previous postings and my "so-so" opinion of the complex and the management I decided against renting.
