Office Staff
I've lived at Stone Canyon for one year now, and I have to say that I really like it here. Riverside tends to be a mixed bag of people, some good and some bad. However, I've noticed that just about everyone who resides here is professional, respectful and considerate. It is hard to find such neighbors in an apartment complex in Riverside, and to me good neighbors are really important. I'll start by discussing the office and maintenance staff. The office staff is very quick to respond to any inquiries that you might have, and i've always been treated with respect. In addition, they put on small gatherings every so often where you can often get free food, engage in community activities, and the like. When I had problems with one neighbor being rude and keeping us up at night (amongst a vast majority that were respectful) the office management spoke with the offenders right away and the problem became greatly minimized. In addition, any necessary issues that I've needed fixed maintenance wise have been done so in a timely manner. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and there are several amenities at these apartments. There is a gym, walking trails, small movie room, sauna, etc. Not much that can be added to make this place even better. The apartments are spacious with nice painting and trim, good carpet, and high ceilings. Everything always seems clean on the grounds, which is also important to me. When I chose to move from a one bedroom into a two bedroom apartment, I was charged minimally for painting and cleaning. I appreciated that my deposit was not gouged as has happened by some management companies. We tend to be really clean, and i know sometimes people complain that they must pay for things when damages occur, but we had no problem with this. The management seemed honest when dealing with our money. If you are the type of person that likes loose rules and chaos then you should move to one of the many other student occupied grounds that Riverside has to offer. I've read reviews of people complaining that they've had their cars towed, that they have had security called on them, but I like when common sense and a respectful attitude is enforced. I don't want someone parking in my spot, and I don't want someone talking loudly on their balcony at all times of the day. Basically, treat others with decency and you will never have a problem. I appreciate an environment where respect is the status quo. Overall, the rent is a bit higher than some places, and sometimes parking can be a bit difficult to find inside of the complex if you have more than one car, but if you want convenience, cleanliness, rules enforced and amenities galore this is the place for you. You definitely get what you pay for here, and Stone Canyon is much preferred over anything else the Sycamore Canyon or Riverside area has to offer.
