This placks is TERRIBLE NEVER RENT HERE

I hae had my own car towed from a parking spot and I live here. I have had $1000 worth of clothes stolen. My car stereo was stolen along with 1,000 other people. What I am really trying to say is this place is a piece and there is no security at all. They say they have security but it is only so they can tow as many cars as possible. RUN, go somewhere worth your money.

      DO NOT RENT HERE!

I absolutely would NOT recommend anybody renting an apartment here - I have had about as much as I can take of all the thieves and the homeless people wandering around!
The place is not well maintained and one of the staff at the desk...the tall one with dark curly hair is unbelievably stuck up and rude. I heard we have a new manager now - I hope she is better than the last one! Still, she would have to perform a miracle for me to stay here any longer - this is truly the ------ of Pacific Beach!
I have just read the other reviews on here and would like to add that I have also been towed, laundry stolen, maintenance requests ignored, kept awake by screaming people, intimidated by the creepy weirdos around and embarrassed by the state of the elevators/stairs/hallways etc if anyone comes to visit - and don't bother to complain or ask any help from the staff here - you might as well ask the cat!!

Beware of Management when you takeover a lease from someone. They do not make sure everything is ok for the new party. Management is very poor. The folks that own this complex should be ashamed.

            don't consider this place

My boyfriend and i have been living here going on 3 months and this is by far the worst place either one of us has ever lived in. There is no way that what they charge you for rent- to live in this hell hole-is worth it. Unless you don't mind people screaming on their balcony till 5 in the morning, people coming home drunk hanging out right by your window & balcony at 230 in the morning, almost all throughout the night people stomping up and down the stairs-to even know that some idiot would have an idea to put a unit next to this stair case says enough, tweeked out freaks starring at little kids in the courtyard, bums washing their clothes and sleeping in stairwells, and the management doing nothing but sitting on their fat asses and telling you they're sorry & to call courtesy- then yeah sure you'll love this place, or if your just PB trash who has no respect for other residents. There is no point in using security because even if you do reach him after like the 3rd call nothing gets done, and everyday it's been something new. You can't call the… See More>

              fun place to be

One of my neighbors told me about this site, and I thought I'd check it our for myself. Wow. Has anyone ever noticed how everything everyone writes on basically every apartment site is bad? Well, thought I'd sum things up in favor of this place (for once!) I've lived here since November of last year. I like it. The only reason I'm moving is because I'm getting married, and kind of getting out of the "partying" scene. It's a cool place to live. Nice big pool, so-so gym, tennis courts, and such. Office staff have always been nice to me. The maintenance guys have always gotten my requests done within a day or two. I would reccomend it if you're looking for a fun and "happening" place to be. If you're looking for something more quiet, I'd try somewhere else. It just aint gonna happen in P.B. As for as homeless goes, I've only seen one person walking through the parking lot ever, but as someone else said...."Hey, it's P.B, what do you expect?" Hope this review helped!

I love this place!!! I found Bay Pointe online while conducting my rental search from out of state. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made my move from Canada seem-less. Although the buildings are older, you can tell they are working on may community improvements such as painting, replacing carpets and upgrading the units. My favorite thing about the community is the heated pool.

A complete Nightmare (this is no joke)

To those looking to move to PB do not move to Bay Pointe apartments! This not one of those reviews you should ignore because you will soon learn for yourself what a nightmare Bay Pointe really is if you should decide to live there. Let me first state that I am by no means a picky person. I have lived in a lot of apartments that were less than immaculate, but Bay Pointe is truly gross and almost un-livable. There are literally holes in the hallway walls that have remained there for months despite the fact that I have put in a dozen work orders. My carpet is brown shag carpet (no joke), the hallway smells very strong like mold, work orders NEVER get done (I have put in fix-it requests and it takes weeks, even months to get done), people steal your laundry from the laundry rooms, and last month the property manager just left and never came back to work. All the employees still don't really know what happened to the manager.
In summary: DO NOT LIVE AT BAY POINTE. None of this is a joke (although I wish it were)
Pacific Beach Homeless Shelter

I have a sneaking suspicion that the review claiming that the management company has taken care of the homeless problem was actually written by one of the employees of the management company here, damage control of sorts. Who in their right mind would ever consider this a decent or acceptable place to live? Clearly this is the worst apartment complex I have EVER come across. I am horribly embarrassed by my own naivete. To begin, the homeless are a terrible problem. They live at the top of the stairwells and scare the female tenants. This is an ongoing problem and there have been posts to sites regarding this problem going back several years. They know about it, but do nothing. The halls and elevators are filthy, an embarrassment if you ever want to have a guest. Going back to the homeless issue, despite multiple, repeated notifications, the rude staff is completely apathetic to the problem. All they care about is bringing in new victims by offering move-in specials and suckering them into a lease. I do have to give the owners kudos for giving the mentally challenged employment opportunities… See More>

                        so far so "not bad"

Well, I read some bad reviews of this place, AFTER I signed the lease, so I was a little worried moving in. But I've been here 2 months without any problems so far. No noisy parties (one night I was woken up by someone revving a motorcycle engine), no homeless people in the stairwells, no stolen laundry (unless you count the odd socks I've lost.) The staff at the front desk are helpful and friendly - my only complaint about that is that they're only open from 9-5 and the only chance I have to talk to them is calling from work - and the after hours maintenence guy drove down to let me into my apartment after I locked myself out late on a Sunday night. The "Health Club" is more of a danger to your health than a benefit - just a small collection of old weight machines - so don't be fooled by that, but having said that I have used it a few times.
Once I figured out where the extra parking lots were I haven't had any trouble getting a spot, but it's not secure in any way.

                          This place sucks tremendously!!

I lived here for eleven months before finally getting fed-up enough to move away. And in that time I frequently witnessed homeless people diving thru the dumpster, going thru the laundry that often smell of urine afterwards...The office staff are frustrating and unhelpful at the best of times. They seem to pout whenever you appear in the lobby. I never once saw security make a 'quick response' and escort anyone off the property. I assumed from observation that their job was to lock mail boxes, kick people out of the jacuzzi and make buddies with the tow-truck company...

I lived at baypointe for 6 years and never had any problems. Maintenance and office staff were quick to respond to problems and although there were homeless sometimes in hallways, they were escorted off property immediately if office was notified. I would recommend baypointe to apartment seekers

                              pretty great, actually

I've lived in my apartment here for about eight months or so. I have a great view of all these trees and flowers and my apartments pretty big. It has a lot of closet space. All of the stuff they offer is pretty great. I have a gym, pool, jaccuzis, tennis, etc. The gym isn't much, but hey, at least I don't have to drive five miles to get there. I have met some people out by the pool who don't live here, which isn't really fair, but they were pretty cool. I've seen a few homeless people hanging around, but I've also seen homeless people at Trader Joe's, the beach, The Closet, etc. That's just what you get when you live at the beach. I don't see people posting basically hate mail on all their websites. Maintenance has fixed every problem I've ever complained of. The people in the office are really nice and helpful. And they're always there. Even on Sundays. I'll probably keep living here for as long as I can afford it.

What to say about Bay Pointe apartments...
Lived there just under a year. The rooms are actually pretty nice and spacious, I'll give them that. In a dual master setup with ample space and each room has its own bathroom. That's pretty much where the positives end.
The apartment complex is full of noisy Brazillians who tend to yell from balcony to balcony at 2am. The constant yelling, drinking, partying and toking reminds me more of living in a college dorm than anything else. Great if that's what you're looking for, but if you actually have to go to work in the morning it sucks.
Along the list of "suck" is the homeless people who live in the stairwells, which gives a plesant urine odor through the hallways. A lot of non residents sneak in and use the pool or tennis courts, and security is a joke. People go dumpster diving throughout the week, and there's a crack addict that lives in one apartment and "dances" on her balcony all day, every day.
So, if you want to live the college dorm life even after college, this is the place for you. hello? It's P.B, what do you expect?

I used to live on Jewel Street in P.B, and had problems with homeless, parking, and loud partying. This is the price you pay for living in a beach community. Parking is always a mess any time you live in P.B, and the homeless are everywhere. I see them outside of restaraunts, shops, apartments, ect. I moved to Bay Pointe about seven months ago, and have so far had pleasant experiences. The girls in the office were very helpful upon moving in, and have promptly dealt with any issues I have had. As for homeless, yes, they do exist, but once again, it's Pacific Beach!!!! If you want to be sure you'll find a parking spot, you need to rent an apartment that has assigned parking. Otherwise, don't ----- about it. Parking at this complex is tough sometimes, but how many times can I say it? IT'S THE BEACH! I really like Bay Pointe. They have an awesome pool, basketball courts, and a decent gym. For all you whiners, why not move to a place like La Jolla that sounds like it would better suit your needs.

Security is such a joke. They sit in the office and my car got broken into while it was parked on the property. The only upside is that the apartments are large, but they are so old and run down its not worth it. Also, it is really loud and people are very inconsiderate. Myself and my partner tolerated living in our Bay Pointe apartment for all of eight months. This complex is not secure...anyone can walk in and twice I have caught homeless people rummaging through the dryers...when they aren't diving through the dumpsters or sleeping in one of the small maintenance rooms on the ground floor....We had huge problems with a neighbor and constantly called security to deal with it....which they didn't...the apartment office told us to contact the Police NOT Security ....who were totally useless when they did rarely show up. They will have you towed though..so they will get a kickback....recently introduced rules mean that you will also get towed if you have a single tire over the white line of a parking space...or if you back into the carpark...go figure?...You pay a thousand a month to live in this 'resort' apartment...security sux and I lived here. I can list about thirty incidents when security were needed but never appeared.....and most of those were for noise...the security guard who wrote that review must have a selective memory...There are nice features to this complex but I would warn anyone to stay away...theres nicer places to live.

We have 2 parking spots for the 1 bedroom and they don't charge pet rent. I've found pet rent to be quite common out here. Parking has never been a problem but we work 9-5 so there are plenty of spaces when we get home. Noise hasn't been a problem, but we live on the 3rd floor. Noise is only a nuisance on the weekends with the loud people out on the street walking home and screaming.
The "workout" facility is a joke, better off joining a local gym. They offer brunch on weekends, although its always been fully depleted by the time I got there-
Location is convenient, great you can walk to bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. 1 block to mission bay.
Overall its a good apartment. However, you should be selective about where on the complex your unit is.

                                                I like it

I've been living at Baypointe for about 6 months and haven't had any problems. The staff and other residents seem really nice and it's close to all the restaurants, bars, schools, freeways, adn the beach. My roommate and I have about the same size bedrooms, seperate baths, and each received a parking spot.

I've lived at Baypointe for over 7 years and have recommended it to many of my friends. Although we had a few issues with the homeless browsing through the property we realize that this is part of living by the beach. The office and maintenance staff have always been friendly and seem to remedy any problem situations in a timely manner.

The pool is heated and includes free water aerobics twice a week.the fitness center has nautilus type of equipment as well as the basics (bike, stairmaster, treadmill).
