Canyon View Apartments

We lived right next to Navajo Rd. With a satisfying view of the neighborhood just down the ravine, Cowles Mountain to the east, and the rest of Mission Trails to the north. The car traffic took very little time to get used to. It was more obvious when we were trying to listen to the TV but we could always turn it up and close the windows. Coming from North Park and the hellhole that it was turning into, this area was heaven. Finally we found peace from people traffic and hoodlums on the main street, and rampant theivery (we are not elderly folk). Taking walks around the San Carlos neighborhood down to Lake Murray was always very satisfying. Cowles Mountain offered a good workout. I always felt safe here since it is a gated community and, like I said before, people traffic is essentially non-existent. The rent was fair for, what we considered to be very easy on the eye apartments, clean, well kept and a wonderful, tranquil, neighborhood to live in as well. The only reason my fam and I had to move out was due to money issues including gas woes, as getting to work was a hassle being a bit inland. Even then we were trying desperately to stay in the neighborhood. Other than that, we only asked for minor repairs about 3 times in 1.6 years of living there and the service was quick and well done. We got used to the directv, dsl only options. If you face north like we did, then only the shared Directv will be your option. You cannot get extra premium stuff wihtout the dish. ***Checking in on June 2012*** Wow lots of negative Nelly reviews. I guess having lived in the apartment overlooking Navajo Rd kept the noise from the pool area out. I also don't know what management is like now. We never had parking issues as we only had one car and a visitor every weekend or so. I now live in North County close to the beach yall! but I still have good memories of the beautiful San Carlos neighborhood, Mission Trails, and Lake Murray.
