When looking for apartments, I was excited about the possibilities of living at NEMA. The apartment complex shows really well and has all of the cutting edge features you'd want in a new high rise. I honestly didn't mind the top end price that I would pay for my apartment. But ever since I got here, I've run into a number of service related issues that have made this a poor decision. As a result, I do not recommend this complex in the least. I moved into the NEMA in early September, nearly two months before this posting. Immediately I noticed a number of issues with the unit. The carpets had stains, the walls were never repainted, there were cracks in the ceiling, and dents in the appliances. Clearly they didn't properly turn the unit. When I brought it to the attention of the management, the manager - Jason Kamen - seemed frustrated and encouraged maintenance to fix the problems. It took a full month to fix all of these issues with the last of the issues being completed in early October. When complete, Jason never checked up on me or even apologized for the inconvenience. When I asked for some financial consideration for the problems I encountered, they offered me an additional key. Big whoop. As I've lived here, I continue to notice extremely poor service. Here are a few of the issues I've experienced while living here. Porter Services . I had a groceries sent to the porter who forgot to refrigerate them. The shipment was subsequently spoiled. . Something spilled in one of my other grocery bags and when the porter handed it to me, the bag broke in my hands as he watched. . The porters lost my case of water for two days. . They claim to automatically send up deliveries when requested. Deliveries are rarely sent to my place without multiple asks. Concierge Services . At least once a week, I get a call for a food delivery to the wrong address. . Guests who are on my pre-approved list are often stopped at the counter while the concierge calls me to verify even though they should be automatically sent up. . Offers on the app are often invalid or incorrect. When I called one of the maid services, they were very frustrated with the number of erroneous calls claiming that they asked NEMA to change the offer multiple times. Valet Services . The first week I was here, my girlfriend valeted her car at NEMA. During that time, something was stolen from her car. Two months later, there is still no resolution to the theft of items in my friend's car. Not even a follow up from the valet manager. . Many of the valets smell, leaving a lingering odor in my vehicle . They raised the price for overnight guests from $30 - $40 per night without any notice to its tenants. Other Issues . The carpets on my floor have literally never been vacuumed since I moved in 2 months ago. There is literally trash on the floor for months. . I've mentioned broken equipment to the trainers in the gym and the equipment still hasn't been fixed. This isn't about the money. When I moved in, I knew exactly how much I was paying for the apartment. But the service is really horrible and it not worth the money I'm paying. Even my last apartment complex - Madera Apartments in Mountain View - had better customer service and I paid half the price for the same size apartment. Madera is excellent by comparison. If they can vacuum the common areas on a regular basis, why can't NEMA? My concern is value. If you are looking for a luxury apartment, don't look at NEMA, or their sister property The Jasper. You'll be disappointed. Final Note: I attempted multiple times to resolve these items directly with NEMA management. This same letter was emailed to the manager a week ago with no response as of this post date.
