I mainly chose this apartment because of location (I work within walking distance). If you commute, there are probably better options. The good - 1) The actual apartment units are very nice. Walls are well insulated against sounds from neighbors (although not completely against traffic noise if you face the highway). Other than traffic noise, I haven't had any major issues. 2) Pet friendly. 3) The outdoor facilities and gym are well-maintained and good quality. 4) Cheaper price compared to apartments closer to the city. 5) There is a grocery store, lots of restaurants, and a light rail station within walking distance. 6) Maintenance is very responsive and usually deals with issues within one business day. The bad - 1) The hallways are absolutely disgusting. They're lined with hairballs and covered in pet excrement, rotting food spills, and stains. I've seen the hallways cleaned once the entire time I've lived here, which is over a year. For the amount of rent we pay, you'd think management could spend a little more money to hire maintenance to clean the hallways once a week. It would also help to coat the floors so they're non-porous and don't absorb pet excrement so readily. 2) The parking garage gates are always broken and essentially pointless, since people sneak in all the time. The guest garage is always full, and the console is confusing. 3) No one is ever in the office. 4) There are always small children wearing diapers in the hot tub. This is unsanitary. 5) I wouldn't feel safe walking around this neighborhood at night. More than once this year, there have been fights below my balcony with multiple cop cars showing up. 6) The community is mostly families with kids. If you're young and single like me, you might have a hard time fitting in. Most of the events are geared toward children.
We are glad to hear that you love how quiet your apartment unit is, and everything that is within walking distance. We value your time at our community, and we apologize for any challenges you encountered. While we do our best to avoid it, occasionally we lock the doors if we're out conducting tours in the situation that we don't have team members staying behind. We're sorry for any missed connections and look forward to connecting in the future to work through your concerns.
