Glen Willow Apartments
Resident · 2008 - 2010
APARTMENT CONDITIONS: There are basically 2 sides to the building: the renovated side (where I lived, the left wing) and the new side (the right wing). My apartment was somewhat rundown. The wiring was very poor (the power would go out if I tried to use the microwave) and the outlets were mostly 2-prong. My neighbor also complained that his roof leaked during the winter. Besides these downsides the inside of the apartment seemed very spacious and the walls were VERY thick (you couldn't hear the neighbors at all!) BUILDING CONDITIONS: The grounds are kept pretty clean. There is a fitness center but there are only 2 machines and they break occasionally (mainly from irresponsible parents letting their children play on them). The elevator is incredibly slow but it's better than nothing. The staircases are very narrow which makes moving in/out a challenge. MANAGEMENT: The manager, Jennifere is very nice but sometimes hard to get a hold of (she's only around on the weekdays till about 4:00) and the maintenance guy is also very nice (willing to drop whatever he was doing to help you) though a little hard to understand (mostly because I don't speak of word of spanish). PARKING: The parking is all underground which is nice, I always felt that my car was safe. There is little to no guest parking (probably one of the biggest reasons I moved). Guests can basically park on the street or a few blocks away in a cul-de-sac. If people park in the lot across the street they'll get towed. LOCATION: Only a few blocks away from downtown Willow Glen. There's also a fantastic bakery right across the street. If you go towards downtown San Jose the area gets a little sketchy so I wouldn't walk around there alone at night. There's a bus stop right outside which is awesome if you rely on public transportation. Overall, I really liked my experience living here. I'll definitely miss living so close to Aqui! Also, I got my full deposit back which is pretty awesome considering how long I lived there and the fact that I have a cat. There seems to always be apartments available so, if you're looking to move, I'd definitely check this place out.
