Parkside Commons is okay. I've been living there for about a year and a half. It does have it's pros and cons. I like the complex because I feel safe, although every once in a while there has been car theft and vandalism. However, I have never had to worry about stepping out doors and getting shot.
The rent recently went up $75 to $1300 per month, in addition, you have to pay water and garbage, which runs about $35 per month. The apartments are small, and I don't care for the layout. However, tenants are paying for the amenities, such as a gated, well-kept community, 3 laundry facilities, a pool, fitness center, and a playground.
The 2 bedroom, 2 bath flats, there's a lot of closet space. The master bedroom has 2 closets, and a bathroom. In the living room there are 3 closets: 1 coat closet, 1 storage, and 1 linen closet. There's also a storage closet on the patio or balcony. However, there's poor ventilation, and not enough light. The only natural light that comes through the living room is from the sliding doors leading to the patio, but is blocked off from the outside fence surrounding the patio. The only main light fixtures is on the fan, and in the kitchen on the far end of the apartment.
Aside from that I live on the bottom level, the upstairs tenants drive me crazy. They are extremely loud! It seems like they have a tribe living in a 2 bedroom apartment. I've seen a mother, father, grandmother, 2 teenagers, an adult son, and other extended family. I've had to report them. Other than that, if you have more than 1 car or choose to have company parking SUCKS! There is none!
Overall the apartment complex is nice. It is well kept. Management and maintenance move with a sense of urgency. Any problems or maintenance problems are always fixed with the speed of light!
