Resident 2018 - 2019

Let me start by saying that if I could leave this review with NEGATIVE stars, I would. When we first moved into the complex, we were in between a rock and a hard place. We were brand new to the area and didn't have time or money to spend looking at different apts. The more time we have spent here, the more we are finding out that the complex is not everything it is made to look like. The office staff is friendly and helpful when they can be. I blame most of everything else on the actual management of this complex. They are severely understaffed when it comes to maintenance. There are many dirty areas of the complex that should be kept up via the staff and not the responsibility of the tenants. These include common areas like laundry facilities, the playground, and even the trash facilities. After being in the area for about 5 months now, we are finding that for the money we spend here, there IS MUCH NICER elsewhere! Upon move in, we made a list of the things that needed to be fixed, and they were not. There are exposed wires in our closet for the doorbell, and the response to fixing it was, "Oh those are just for the doorbell." CLEARLY!!!!!! We have all stepped on carpet tacks and we were told that they could hammer them down, BUT the carpet would likely unravel, and would need to be replaced. I would like to know how a crappy carpet job is my fault to begin with, but apparently we just need to deal with it. All of the counter tops throughout the apt have pressed wood underneath and most all of it is falling apart. When mentioned to maintenance, we were told that that is something they cannot fix as the entire countertops would need to be replaced and management is aware and will not be fixing them. Let me mention, that our 5 yr old is countertop height and constantly gets stabbed, poked, and hurt by the chipped wood from the counters. The worst parts are all around where you would naturally put your hands to open drawers, cabinets, the dishwasher, etc. So, we are all dealing with wood chips in our hands and making a mess all over the floor. Our front entry is awful. It has apparently never been repaired properly and when it rains, it collects water. So the floor is usually damp underneath, and clearly is the reason that there is a constant curve in the floor, and huge gaps in between the door and the floor. The paint in the apt is peeling everywhere....the doors, the walls, the window sills. DID I MENTION WE MOVED INTO A RENOVATED UNIT?!? Our "new" refrigerator has a large gash in the seal around the freezer. Floorboards are left unfinished and unpainted. We do not take baths any longer as the glaze has almost completely peeled off. There is no way that consistent inspections of apts are being done. I know of a neighbor that has lived here nearly 3 decades, and you can see the filth from the window when you pass by. Nevermind, the patios that we walk by consistently that smell awful, and can literally see the trash oozing out from below the fencing. Other neighbors smoke constantly, and I know the office is aware of the situation, as they have posted notices on our building that smoking has been brought to their attention. However, nothing has ever been dealt with. I have had notices placed on my door about owing money when we do not. Our "security patrol" is a joke. I have yet to see them arrive when they are actually called. We deal with constant noise issues late at night. We have also recently been notified in a "newsletter" (first one in our 5 months) that if you have issues they need to be dealt with through the security patrol and not wait til the next morning to report it to the office. Well, when security isn't dealing with the issue, and never shows up, you need to be able to report that to the office. Our washing facilities are always filthy and on many occasions, half or more of the machines are not in operation. Parking is a joke, even when you have reserved spots. We are dictated to to move our vehicles every 72 hours (most are, and I know there have been issues with cars being stored that are inoperable) and that we need to keep our vehicles washed. Why should I worry about the cleanliness of my vehicle, when the complex doesn't worry about the cleanliness of, well, the complex. I really am sure I could go on and on with this, but surely by now you know that you should LOOK ELSEWHERE if you are considering moving here. There is MUCH NICER out there! I promise! ***PICS ON YELP***
