Resident 2005 - 2006

2/9/2010

MVII is close to Cal Poly, but that's about the only up side. I lived here 06-07, and the rent was high, the parties were loud, management was extremely rude when we had concerns, and I couldn't get out of here fast enough. Rent was the equivalent of over $2000/month for the whole apartment. Our neighbors had really loud parties every weekend, and the security guards didn't care 'cause the neighbors gave them beer & bong hits! Then the neighbors started 'getting back at us' by egging our windows, urinating on our door, and encouraging their guests to vomit on our porch. Management didn't care at all, and insisted that we were responsible for cleaning it up. Parking was fine if you had a permit. The security guards must have gotten bonuses for towing cars, 'cause they were wicked fast getting unpermitted cars out of here. You'd see two tow trucks making four or five trips out of there on weekend nights. Maintenance got the job done, but really shoddily on occasion. Our bathtub started leaking halfway through the year and they fixed it with bondo(!). The bondo kept cracking so they had to come back three times before they fixed it for good, and in the meantime one of our roommates carpet started to mold from the leaking water. Management was focused on getting people into leases, not in keeping people there. We talked our issues over with management but were continually rebuffed. They simply didn't care about keeping us happy. There are better options all over SLO. Don't live here.
