Be very careful renting here. I lived in these apartments for 10 months and my experience was the worst of any place I have ever lived at. To start with the positive, the on-site management and maintenance staff are very pleasant, the pools are clean, the apartments have a decent feel. That's about all that's positive about these apartments. I rented a corner unit, and my apartment was broken into. In the middle of the day, thieves smashed a patio glass door, stole a laptop and a safe, left through the front door which was left wide open. A neighbor called the main office stating that the front door to my apartment has been open "for a few hours" and the bed was overturned. It is evident that my apartment was staked out. These apartments are empty during the day. If you read reviews on the internet this is NOT the first time a break-in has happened at these apartments. The apartment are surrounded by low-income housing - there are sketchy people hanging around the parking lots. When I asked management about cameras, the "on-site" maintenance manager told me that he has asked for them to be installed time and time again, to no avail. Turns out the "on-site" management is really not management at all, they can't do ANYTHING without seeking approval from the actual management company, Acco. Anyway, I no longer felt safe living in my apartment and moved all my things out. I was led to believe by the "on-site" staff that I'd be able to cancel my lease without penalty due to my circumstances. That's not the case. Even though I only have two months left on a 12 month lease, and due to the H1B timeframe there is no shortage of potential tenants, the Acco management company is STILL charging me for the month of November (I moved everything out October 27th). This company cares only about money! They do not care about their tenants, they do not care about their employees. I'm out a ton of money as insurance doesn't cover things without receipts (and I kept important things like receipts in my safe - never again), and they won't work with you even a little bit. Other than that, the apartments are ancient, the only plugs that are grounded are in the kitchen and bathroom. Only the upper units have AC so it's HOT in the summer, and road noise is constant from Lawrence Expy 20 feet away. I saw roaches often, but no mice or rats. Stay away from here. Do not rent a corner unit. If you do end up renting here, make sure you have cameras inside your apartment! It is not safe. Sincerely, - Dmitry Update 10/22/2015: I see that there is now a comment posted to my review. I just want to reiterate the kind of -------- these people pull: I obviously did not get most of my deposit money back, here's one of the receipts attached with my refund check: i.imgur.com/grvXc41.jpg That's an $80 receipt for paint. I moved out September 2015. The receipt is dated January 2015... Make your own conclusions.
