Resident 2012 - 2013

5/16/2013

I was there for 7 months. The problem with this place has to do with management. Here is why: - I had no hot water for 1 week - Theres a LOT of solicitors knocking on doors - Two houses were broken into, when they claim to have "security" - The pool was closed during summer time - I tried calling security once because of solicitors they said it would take them 15 minutes to arrive. I never actually saw them. - Forget walking at night, the area is packed with suspicious people and some homeless - The apartments are SERIOUSLY overpriced. I am now in a 1 bedroom apartment, in a much nicer area and I am paying $500 less. Oh, and I was in a studio in oakbrook. And here is the last drop: When I was going to return the keys the office was closed because it was mothers day. I had a business trip the next few days and I could not return the keys until I came back. After emailing management, they said that they would charge the pro-rated rent for those days. I managed to get the manager to agree by email not to charge me that fee as the apartment was completely vacant and ready to be taken over. I only had the keys. They agreed not to charge me on the email. However, after I returned from my trip, when I went there to return the keys I felt cheated to learn that they were going to charge me for those days. The issue here is not the money, it is the honesty and the professionalism of the people managing the place. I would not recommend this place.
