Resident 2011 - 2012

12/17/2012

I recently moved out of this apartment and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND "THE" TORCELLO APARTMENTS to anybody. Don't get me wrong, if you are looking for an apartment at the moment and if you tour in this community, you will find it nice looking (the landscape and the apartment itselves), cozy and yes, luxury like what they are advertising, plus the staffs were very friendly and accomodating. They also have the free month special that will save your money. Some part of it is true and MOST part of it is totally, extremely the opposite. Part that is true. Their apartment is indeed beautiful in terms of appearance. That's it. Part that is very dissapointing. -First, their staff, especially the lady named "Frances", is rude and very unprofessional. Unfortunately, most of the times I had a problem in the apartment or just simple queries, it is her that I always talked to and she had this attitude and unfriendly voice (which is far different when I was scouting for an apartment). There was one time, I asked her about my bill and she hang up on me which is I strongly believe is not right because it's a part of her job and work responsibilities to answer the tenant's questions and explain to them in a calm and proper manner. She gave me incorrect information a lot of times, too. She is not fit in her position, manner-wise. Overall, they are not accomodating and welcoming.. well, unless you went in the office to pay the bill or rent. -Second, they charge too much for the water. Technically, I didn't stay in that apartment that much because of work. One day, two days a month. I'll be lucky to stay there 3 consecutive days. I was willing to pay the rent, PGE and water bill even if I was not physically there but looking at my water bill $38 a month is waaay too much. I am living by myself, got a one bed room, stayed for 3 days at most in the apartment and $38 in my water bill?!! I asked them about it and they said it was metered. Yes it says in the bill, it was metered but just common sense, if it is really metered it will change a bit, higher or lower charge. but no, it's the same for 5-consecutive months, not even change in cents! I have the bills kept. Previous review is another proof that this is true. -Third, yes it is easy to wash your laundry if you have your own built-in washer and dryer in your apartment. I couldn't argue with that BUT if it is working. I informed them right away when I found out my dryer was not working. They check it, check it, check it... four, five times and told me it is working, just don't overload it. I tried drying just my underwear for a week and didn't dry and they told me it was working and do not overload it?!! It took them three months before they decided to replaced it and yes I washed and dryed my clothes in a laundry area in March lane for three months. Very inconvenient. I talked to one of the tenants there and they had a problem similar to mine. Plus, again, the office ladies were very unapproachable. -Fourth, the ant attack. I suffer cleaning my apartment in my first two months with the ants. Like A LOT!! Even I don't have dishes in the sink or trash in my trash bin, I see ants. -Fifth, it is not safe. I heard a lot of complains from neighbors that their window are broken and stuffs are stolen... Lucky me, I didn't experienced that but having the thoughts of that is very uncomfortable. I have seen many times in that community a scene crime with police tapes around and it is really unpleasant that you are close to the crime. -Sixth, and the most disappointing part. The move out. They charged too much and a lot of stuffs to me! I was really happy when I finished my lease and moved out in that apartment when I received this mail from them saying that I owed them $34 more dollars!! I had a $400 deposit to them and honestly, I was expecting like at least $200 back since I left the apartment clean and free from wall holes and everything and, again, I barely stayed in that apartment. No broken glasses, torned blinds, ripped carpets or even pencil marks in the walls. I moved out recently in my other apartment in other city and I didn't had a problem like this. I had a $300 deposit and I got $180 back. That is why it is really questionable to me that in Torcello I didn't even get $100 back and worse is they are claiming more from me!! LIVING HERE WILL NOT SAVE YOU A PENNY LIKE WHAT THEY ARE ADVERTISING. MOREOVER, HAVING A APARTMENT MANAGEMENT LIKE IN TORCELLO WILL ADD STRESS TO YOUR LIFE AND YOU DON'T NEED THAT. LEARN FROM OTHERS EXPERIENCES.
