Are you kidding?
First, let me point out that I´m putting my email address on this review. If you have any questions or comments, email me.

I just moved out of Toscana and it was a huge mistake. I got suckered into the "come here because you´ll get free rent for a month and cheaper rent". All I can say is that I was stupid. Let me take a minute to tell you why.

-At Toscana, I got in when the rents were at their very highest and I got the only apartment they had that I could quasi-afford. It was over by the 101 freeway. While it was not nearly as loud as I thought it would be, I didn´t have the best view in the world. And paying $3000 for a two bedroom overlooking the freeway made me feel like I was getting ripped off. That´s why I started looking elsewhere. But in reality, I just had bad timing.

-It irritated me that every time I went into the office, there were new people there. Save a few of the girls, there were new faces every damn time. I bypassed the whole thing by picking one of the girls that was there every day and just started using her as my personal go-to gal. She was always friendly, always returned my calls and never gave me any attitude. In fact, I dont think I ever saw her frazzled or upset and I stood behind some guy who railed on her for 10 minutes. She gave me her home email address one time and told me to email her at home if I needed to after hours. That´s service. And that´s what I miss. I moved to Estancia and have had nothing but bad experiences. They lost one of my packages, one leasing consultant told me to "shut up" and I usually have to wait at least 5 minutes every time I step foot into the office. In addition to all this, they talked real bad about Toscana when I told them where I was moving from when I toured. I should have taken that as an omen.

-I took for granted the maintenance staff at Toscana. There is one guy there named Gyermo and he is phenomenal. I never had many problems with the aparment (except for the toilet. They really should do omething about those. Mine clogged 3 times in 9 months), but when I did, he was there in a heartbeat. Once, my smoke alarm battery was going dead and beeping and I called the office to tell them and literally within 5 minutes, Gyermo was there to fix it. He asked if there was anything else he could do for me and he actually asked me how my day was going. Bravo! Here, I had a leak under my sink and it took them three days to even show up! And when I called on day 2 to ask if they were coming, they accused me of lying about turning it in the first place. Geez.

-The location of Toscana is outstanding. It was seconds away from 101 and I never heard a plane. I can´t sleep at night even after how many months?? San Jose airport flies over here!

-The quality of construction. I never heard my neighbors at Toscana. I feel like I live in the middle of Bangledesh! I am constantly having to bang on my wall to shut my neighbors up.

-Landscaping. Toscana is beautiful! I see where all the rent money goes... the landscapers! I feel like I´m living in a desert now. :(

My only complaint about Toscana, overall, is that they were understaffed, the turnover was incredible and they were, for a while, incredibly overpriced. I dont´ know if Avalon doesn´t pay enough or what, but they have a hard time keeping their employees.

As soon as my lease is up here, I´m heading back. Email me if you have questions or comments.Share This Review
