I have lived at the Cherry Orchard complex for over 2 years- moved into my building day after it was finished. When the current lease renewal came around, the current management sent a letter stating that if I didn´t sign a lease soon the rates would go up....even though prices in this area have plummeted. Also, the complex offers new renters discounts and free months, but to good tenents that pay on time? NO!
So, I decided to move- iF I was going to pay $2400 a month for 2 bedrooms I might as well buy a condo- so that is what I did.
Anyway long story short- when I inquired as to their list of cleaning requirements for move-out, I was handed a list but told by the leasing agent ´I wouldn´t even bother if I were you- no one has ever cleaned enough to not get charged the $140 cleaning fee for a 2 bedroom´- so, basically I have to pay them $140. Also, there is a mandatory $85 carpet cleaning fee for a 2 bedroom- even if there are no stains, the carpet is clean and in good condition, and with over 2 years tenancy. Go figure- I was told that even though the carpets look EXACTLY like they did when I moved in that they had to be cleaned.
So, after putting up with really bad noise from the floors above, kids running all over the complex, I have to pay them to let me move out after 2 years of being a good tenant. You would think that they would want good word of mouth, espcially in todays market place for apartment rentals.
