Resident 2009 - 2012

5/23/2012

I've lived at this complex for three years. When I first moved in, the manager lied as to why I wasn't allowed to move into my apartment 2 days before my move date, claiming a pipe leak. It took three weeks for them to finally give me the ok to move in. I found out at the end of that three weeks that there was a major roach infestation from the new manager. Not a good way to start my lease, but I let it slide as I was getting a great price. The area was quiet, a few young kids for mine to play with, and great parking. The down side was it doesn't have washer and dryers inside, no exercise room/clubhouse, or anything special really. its just an apartment with no real amenities, that's it. It was quite irritating to find out that the washer/dryer facilities they have on site are all by card, of which you pay $5 for the card itself and then add value to using your credit card, and there is only one machine that does this near the front office. I didn't have many problems until recently. Within the last year there has been a dramatic increase in questionable people moving in. Yes it sounds terrible, but that's when the problems started. I literally had a guy OD on his back porch while doing drugs below me. The kid would have died if my husband hadn't run down to help keep him lucid and call 911. His friends (they were having a very loud party) didn't do anything but stare. Yes we had cops coming in before, but that was sporadically. Now you see multiples coming in at least twice a week. I've had my car vandalized, things stolen, TONS of young kids have moved in with parents who apparently don't care about them as they run free without supervision. (I've almost hit several because of this.) The latest new management pretend to be your friends and genuinely interested in you but do nothing. The "on grounds security" is almost never there. And now they want to raise my rent $200 claiming a fair market value of 2200 when they list it at 1700?! I was even told that the modest $25 increase I've received in the past was "do to the economy being poor" and "now that its better were going back to the 10% increase." They're giving me no option of my lease, 16 mo or quit. Guess what, I'm quitting. If I were you I would run! There are plenty other nicer units out there that ACTUALLY have amenities.
