Resident 2013 - 2014

1/24/2014

A few things to expect if you decide to rent from Hunter's Run (taken from my personal experiences): -more often than not, you will end up parking your car far away from your building because the parking lot is too small. Something they have done to "cut corners" in maintaining the resident-to-parking-space ratio is that they have made their individual parking spaces so narrow that cars are inches away from touching (in other words, your cars WILL get scratched/dented) -the hot tubs seem to never work, and 90% of the lounge chairs are falling apart (making it very difficult to relax by the pool in the summer) -inefficient air conditioning (I used it for just ONE WEEK out of the summer and when I got my next Xcel bill, it was double what I paid the previous month) Not only that, the air conditioning did not even work well...it was still so warm that I needed to run my oscillating fan. The maintenance guy once told me that there had been some complaints about children urinating on the A/C units in my building or the ones next to mine, so that might have been contributing to the problem. -litter along the sidewalks and staircases (empty bottles, plastic bags, cigarette wrappers, brochures/fliers from the mail) -when there is a problem that requires maintenance, for instance a hot water heater needing to be replaced, they will take 3-4 weeks to do the job -the exercise equipment in the "fitness center" is from the 1980's (there are only 3 or 4 machines that are supposed to be for all of the people living in the Highline Terrace, Master's Club and The Reserve) and you could probably find nicer equipment at Goodwill -random maintenance people showing up in your apartment unannounced, without bothering to knock on the door first...just unlocking it with their master key and walking in (really, who does this?) -when receiving packages in the mail, you have to get them delivered to the leasing office address unless you are home 24/7 because you cannot trust your neighbors not to steal it from the outside of your door. The leasing office closes at 5:30, so if you work a schedule of roughly 9-5 Monday through Friday, like a majority of people do, this makes it very inconvenient for you, especially if it is an important package that you need on the day it arrives. -last but not least, the head leasing manager is an obnoxious jerk
