DO NOT MOVE HERE! After having my A/C unit leak and my bike stolen within the same week, I went to talk to the manager -------. I explained that I was very disappointed with security (walking out on NAKED MAN IN BUILDING, bike stolen) and the integrity of the NICE AND NEW building (a/c breaking, shelves breaking). ------- had no empathy whatsoever, she literally had not even said anything along the lines of "I'm sorry that happened to you". When I pointed out to ------- the lacked customer service and just basic sensitivity to situations it was then that she started to offer suggestions and help regarding my bike and post A/C unit breaking. IT GETS WORSE! Please read below for details on everything. 1. CAME UPON ON A NAKED MAN ON DRUGS IN THE BUILDING! A. 7AM I am walking through a stairwell in the building which you need a key fob to access. I am getting to the exit of the staircase near the car garage door entrance which management confirmed he slipped through after a car. So, this man is at the doorway passage from the garage door entrance and he basically can't get any further without a fob.... as I am approaching I need to pass him thru the door but I open it, he calls out to me and states he is NAKED and LIVES THERE and is ON DRUGS and wants me to LET HIM IN! I turned around and informed Modera as soon as they opened that morning. B. ------- the manager confirmed that it was in fact someone that lived in the building (currently not a resident). Nice to know those were my neighbors! That was a very scary experience for me. C. I know Modera has since hired a third-party late-night security to check the property on a schedule. However, that hasn't seemed to help much as bikes still get stolen. 2. During the PANDEMIC Modera sent out letters stating that they would be coming into each apt to replace the cabinetry... A. The 3rd party group replacing the cabinets WORKED IN MY APARTMENT THE WHOLE DAY WITHOUT WEARING MASKS (one worker wore a mask out of about 5 or 6). B. Modera made sure to kindly word their letter stating "as they let us know before moving in, they need to replace the cabinets etc. etc.". However, I really do not remember this being said but besides that point.... Ultimately, this did not seem like a dire need during a pandemic to have workers in my home under these conditions. 3. At least 4 bikes have been stolen from inside the 'secure' building A. Management informed me the footage shows the robbers cutting a 'secure' maintenance lock box located outside for emergencies. This held the key fob which gave them access to enter the building and then enter the bike room which you also need a key fob for. When I asked management what other key fobs in that box gave them access to what?? I was told nothing else. However, I frankly do not believe that. B. When I spoke with ------- sharing my disappointment, she eventually gave me a suggestion to file a claim with my renter's insurance. Modera did end up reimbursing me for my deductible. 4. My A/C unit located in the closet has LEAKED ONTO MY CLOTHES TWICE now resulting in color bleeding and a mildew smell to my clothes. I was successful in getting that taken care myself... it was not until I was clearly upset that a dry-cleaning reimbursement was being offered. A. When Modera needed to fix the A/C unit, I spent 2 DAYS with EVERYTHING IN MY CLOSET CLEARED OUT resulting in clutter everywhere (very stressful especially living where there are 3 housemates, and everyone is working from home) B. And for these 2 DAYS we had to KEEP OUR A/C OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF JULY. Yes, we were giving an individual window A/C unit to use in the meantime. However, the windows in this building are not 'slide up' windows, they crank out. The A/C window units given were not even compatible with our windows.... useless. C. Modera did give us a credit towards rent.... Once again only after we were clearly disappointed with the customer service. 5. Racks/shelves in closet have fallen a couple of times now A. Happened to many neighbors too 6. THIN WALLS AND FLOORS!!!!
