Resident 2014 - 2015

7/14/2015

Time frame of events between the leasing office and myself: June 9th, 2014: I walk through the Edge apartments with an associate and get quoted and lock in an apartment on the 1st floor moving in July 19th. June 11th, 2014: Received confirmation quote document via email. Told to call a couple weeks before moving in to set up lease signing meeting. July 1-14th, 2014: Called roughly 7-8 times and never got a hold of anyone to set up a lease signing meeting. Left a voicemail every time. July 15th, 2014 (4 days before my move in date): The leasing office finally call me back (actually emailed me back) and tell me the apartment I was quoted for was actually never available and there are no available apartments in the Edge building. I already had movers paid for, electricity set up, TV and internet ordered. I was in a bind. They moved my quote to a 6th floor apartment in a different building. They said this apartment was actually better than the apartment I had before. July 19th, 2014: Upon moving into The Vue (the new building) that I had never seen, I actually thought I was in the wrong place because the building was so run down. It was horrendous. July 19th until July 14th, 2015 (the length of my lease) they are doing construction to renovate the place inside and out. They continue renovating today. May 31st, 2015: I move most of my small things to another apartment downtown because I can't stand living at this place anymore. I continue paying rent because its cheaper than the fee to cancel my lease. June 4th, 2015: I go over to The Vue and the elevator is being renovated, shut down. I cannot move any of my large items because its 6 sets of stairs and I have really large items. Keep in mind I was supposed to live on the 1st floor of the nice building. July 4th, 2015: I follow up via email/phone call for the 3rd time to get confirmation when the elevator will be back and running so I can move out. July 14th, 2015: The leasing office finally responds to me that they have no idea when the city will inspect the elevator to ensure it works. They also say I have to move all my stuff down 6 sets of stairs with no elevator. I have major back issues so this is not an option. I requested to have them pay for movers. This request is pending and I only have 4 days until my lease is up. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!
