Resident 2013 - 2015

1/30/2015

I've lived in Denver for 10 years and have pretty much moved from apartment to apartment annually as a young professional. Once I found Whisper Sky, I haven't had the need to look anywhere else! Management: From the first time my boyfriend and I stopped in to Whisper Sky, we knew we wanted to rent here. We were greeted by Preston, who is easily one of the friendliest people I've ever met. Preston took us (as a walk in!) on a comprehensive tour of the property and answered any and all questions. After two years, Preston is still the kindest person. He seems to know everyone in the complex, including what apartment they live in, and is always personable and responsive. Melissa - Melissa is the primary manager and is fantastic at her job. Melissa is a no bull sh** type of person, which I both respect and admire. She is honest and to the point and in that she is a genuine person, those are wonderful traits. Melissa knows EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT and works hard to keep the apartment complex running like a well oiled machine. Her personality is a perfect compliment to Preston's, and the two make a really great team. Overall - the Management team offer a ton of awesome events and activities for the residents including social gatherings, Canvas and Cocktail-esque get togethers, yoga, FREE personal training, and a fun and useful monthly newsletter. I've never had a problem getting a hold of management at this apartment complex. Grounds: The grounds of Whisper Sky are truly beautiful. The landscaping team has done a great job of creating a beautiful courtyard with sidewalks winding throughout the park. There are two fenced dog parks, one on each side of the complex. The grass is green and the area is CLEAN. The exception to this is the RESIDENTS WHO DON'T CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR DOGS. It is truly a dog poop cemetery despite management's attempts to make complimentary doggie bags available at literally every corner. Our dog repeatedly got sick due to others' lack of concern to pick up after their pet. It's too bad because otherwise the grounds would be flawless. There are fees imposed if you don't clean up after your pet, but I've never seen them enforced. With that said; however, it never SMELLS or looks trashy or poopy, just watch your step and your pet's step! Amenities: The amenities at this complex are top notch. From a beautiful outdoor swimming pool with a BBQ and fireplace as well as a year-round hot tub, to the dog parks, courtyard, clubhouse (available to rent for parties), fitness and business center -- everything is exceptional. On top of these, the management will: run packages to your door upon request, include advertisements for your company in the monthly newsletter upon request, encourage the business and support the residents with their ventures (i.e. personal training, dog sitting, etc.), they offer dry cleaning services. It's basically like a concierge at a 5 star hotel. Seriously. The Apartments: The apartments are luxury. Plain and simple. Although the granite counter tops aren't real granite and the tile floors are actually laminate....THEY LOOK EXPENSIVE. The two bedroom apartments are ENORMOUS with enough space for a 4 person family no problem. We live in a one bedroom now, but used to live in a 2 bedroom and I believe we had 32 kitchen cabinets! The two bedrooms are definitely where it's at, with dual shower heads in the bathroom, jack and jill sinks (along with about a mile of bathroom counter in between. Can we say a woman's bathroom heaven!?) and a walk-in closet big enough to serve as a 3rd bedroom. The one bedrooms are the miniature versions of the 2 bedroom, but like really mini. Our bathroom only has one real drawer and zero counter space. The garage is big enough to fit two cars one behind the other, but I wish some of that space was used for the apt. For one couple and a dog, the one bedroom is JUST fine, but I'd say if you have the $$ GO FOR THE TWO BEDROOMS, they will; however, spoil you for life. Good luck finding a house with a bathroom like that. Location: The location is OK. There aren't any bars or restaurants that are WALKING distance, but there are several within a 2 mile radius. Things are close, just not THAT close. It's seriously the only thing I would change about this complex. Someone just needs to put in one walking-distance, good bar/restaurant and they will rake in the money from the residents in this neighborhood. The amazing staff, beautiful grounds, and luxury apartments MORE than make up for having to hop in the car or a cab if you live here. Truth - 5 stars.

Thank you for sharing all of the kind words! We also want to thank you for pointing out areas that need more focus. I have made notes and will work with the team to improve. We wish we could build a bar in walking distance! However, biking trails are close for easy access to Cherry Creek nightlife. One of our local favs, Gibby's Big Backyard, is a wonderful experience in the summer with their outdoor sand volleyball league! The Lowry Town Center, also biking distance or minutes driving, offers some amazing options as well. Serizos pizza is amazing, Salty Rita's serves up a delicious margarita, and the local Tavern adjoined by the Soiled Dove (live music) has a spectacular happy hour! Thanks again for taking the time to share so much wonderful information with your future neighbors! Kindly, Melissa Niswonger - Community Manager
