Resident ā€¢ 2015 - 2016

4/22/2016

This is an expensive apartment that looks nice at first glance. It is poor quality and most importantly you won't get what you pay for. We choose this apartment after we were told they had weekly social gatherings with the tenants. This was important to us so we could meet new people in the area. Those were stopped shortly after we moved in and were promised to be monthly instead. Since then we've had 1 event and that was 10 weeks ago. We were told the pool was open year round and would be open by September 25th, 2015. It is now April 2016 and it is still not open. The delay wasn't due to weather but rather they just stopped construction on it. The last promise was moved to the 2nd week of April. Today is the 22nd and it's still not complete. We were told on move in there would be complimentary yoga classes. There is 1 class a week and it is $10. Not a bad price but compared to what was promised it's a raw deal. The rooftop deck was "opened" several months ago. However, the doors are locked so you cannot enter. And the furniture is piled in a corner so even if you could get access there is no seating. There is a refreshment bar in the clubhouse that was stocked with coffee, water, and soda when we moved in. We were encouraged to come by anytime to grab a drink. They no longer stock the water or soda so the fridge sits empty. They keep a separate fridge in their office so when they give tours they have a cold refreshment to offer. The clubhouse used to have candy jars laid around filled with treats. Now there are no snacks to be found and the jars have been removed. The dog park was supposed to open in the fall. They finally put the fence up last month but it is still not complete. The pup wash is nice to use but soap and towels were promised with it during our tour. Now you have to bring your own. Again, not a big deal, except when these little details are what prompted you to choose this as your home. Leases are now coming to renewal time and rent is going up $50. Garages is going up $50. And pet rent is going up. It's averaging to approximately a $200 increase. Increases are to be expected but when you've lived here your whole lease with only half the amenities promised you'd think they'd be giving a refund rather than asking for more.
