At the outset, I want to be clear, I have NOT lived at this property, but my wife had in the past. My wife and I traveled all the way from the East Coast for the express purpose of touring properties of interest for our pending move. As such, our time was understandably very limited. We were in the area touring several properties and had an appointment with Jennifer at Horizons. We were regrettably late to our appointment as our previous appointment ran long. When we arrived at the office the front desk was occupied by Jennifer (who was working with someone) and what I perceived to be a receptionist. As we were late, we were perfectly willing to wait until Jennifer was done with her current appointment. After 20 minutes we left. Five minutes later, I returned with the intention rescheduling the appointment for later in the afternoon. Jennifer was not present but another representative was. I was able to to talk briefly with the second representative and he indicated that if we could wait 20 minutes more Jennifer would be with us as she was behind in her appointments. At this point, the "receptionist" who previously offered no assistance, freely interjected that since we were late, Jennifer took a walk-in in our place and that (without talking to anyone else) plainly stated that no other appointments would be honored that day. I asked if there was any way an exception could be made since we were leaving the area for the East Coast the following morning. Again, no flexibility whatsoever. My wife, who had previously rented from this location warned me that the management was notably stringent. I convinced her to give them consideration. Unfortunately, I had no idea that it would be that strict. We unfortunately never got the opportunity to meet Jennifer. Indirectly, she appeared to be perfectly accommodating and willing to take her time with her prospective clients. Unfortunately, the customer service we received barely getting in the door was shockingly abysmal. In looking around the grounds and clubhouse area, we weren't terribly impressed. As such, our overall rating is based on the staff rating alone, particularly as we were not able to negotiate a rescheduled tour within our limited timeframe. Bottom line: what concerns us greatly is that if this is how prospective renters can be treated, what sort of customer service can be expected once we are in a committed lease?
