Resident 2019

10/28/2019

Moved here at the end of March, but I wanted to hold off on reviewing in case this place was too good to be true on first impression/first few weeks. It's NOT! We moved from out of state and Watermark was so accommodating and responsive, it made the move a lot less stressful (the apartments we came from… not so much). The apartments are brand new, and they're beautiful. Modern-ish look, great appliances, W&D in unit, and walk in closets, yay! I feel safe in and around the apartment. It's a well-lit area in a family town, and there are multiple stores and shops nearby. There are awesome trails right in our backyard that go for miles! The office is great, very responsive (which I didn't have at my old complex, so it's a refreshing change!). By email/phone/their complex community app, however you choose to contact them, the turnaround time to hear back is great. Our AC was fixed the very same day we called. Any other issue we have had has been near-immediately addressed. This is HUGE for me, having lived in past apartments where the management/landlord could give two sh**s about what happens to their tenants/apartments. The trash is picked up right outside your door nightly Sun-Thurs, and a trash compactor/dumpster on site that you can utilize if you have trash outside those days. The people living in the complex seem very nice! They have events through the apartment that seem fun. I'm more of a homebody/hermit so haven't been, but it's nice that they always have something going on and encourage a sense of community. There are some cons, as you're always going to get, so I will mention.. There is not a recycling option within the apartment. So you have to figure out a place to bring your recyclables on your own. Parking. At least by our building, there is hardly ever an open spot after 5/6 ish. So if you go out, plan to park all the way down and trek back to the building. I luckily have a garage so this isn't an issue, but I have noticed multiple residents park in the fire lane, even when they're notified that they will ticket you. Dog poop! This I will put on the residents not the complex, as they have a CRZY amount of poop bag/trash stations throughout the complex. I would gladly do the Doggie DNA thing because I'm like 1 of a small amount of people who actually do pick up their dog's poop.. Also, the way they number the buildings/apartments is confusing for package/food delivery/giving your address to a friend to visit. It's a little frustrating, but honestly not the hardest thing to workaround. None of these, to me, are dealbreakers for all the good things about this apartment. The apartments are a little pricey, and I pay more because both myself and fiance have garages. However, I feel that it's well worth paying a little more for everything that I get. And it's honestly a bigger 'wages haven't matched housing price inflation' issue than an 'individual apartment asking a high price' issue.
