In our opinion, it's a luxury to have a gated entrance. We've had a bad experience in the past(at a different complex) that a could've been avoided with this extra security. Honestly though, the terrain of the complex can make it a difficult walk to your home(especially if you have to carry something heavy or groceries), but the management makes up for this with a closely placed laundry room and dog park for every building. The complex offers more privacy to your actual apartment door than most complexes offer(meaning each stairwell has only 2 apartment entrances per floor). Two things we've had a problem with; one being that some of the washers and the dryers don't work properly and we waste money on re-washing/re-drying our laundry. Two, there have been a few times when the gate doesn't open for any of the tenets 'key fobs'. Usually, when this happens there will be a few tenets in their cars lined up-each trying their own 'key fobs'. Even using the call-in gate code doesn't work. When this happens we have to use the gate on the opposite side and drive all around the complex to get to our parking spot.
