I have to say I did have a rough start up moving into my new apartment at SkyView. I had 3 major issues & 1 small issue that were not addressed prior to my move-in date. Dan who is head of maintenance & his assistant Dave did fix all of the issues the day they were reported within a timely manner. It was just unfortunate the first 3 or 4 days I was in my apartment were spent discovering a new issue each day like the pilot on my furnace being turned up full blast. Had I not noticed the thermostat wasn't kicking on and off properly, my first electric bill would have been outrageous! The worst of all my issues being that my hot water heater had not been turned on so the day after I moved in I couldn't take a shower when I desperately needed to. Not only did I have to wait for it to be fixed but then I had to wait for the tank to fill up & reach the proper temperature. I waited 2.5 hours to finally get my first shower which was highly aggravating & inconvenient. I don't blame the maintenance crew at all since the original manager (Joe) didn't seem to have a good grasp of what was going on with my move or anything else when it came to management. I had to go toe-to-toe with Joe about paying a pro-rated amount for an apartment that was not move-in ready. It took a bit of convincing, but needless to say I got that money refunded to me or deducted off the next month's rent. I ended up having another issue in April with my washer leaking, but Dan had Whirlpool come out & replace the necessary part under warranty although it took almost a month to get that done finally.
On a brighter note the ladies in the office Suzie & Linda are both amazing! They are both always pleasant, accommodating, & happy to help me. Just this past weekend I had my daughter's b-day at our pool. Linda loaned me some decorations & supplies left over from the Luau they hosted 2 weeks before while Suzie offered me some leftover food in the clubhouse fridge that would've gone bad had it not been used. The day of the party Suzie even went out of her way to get a dozen balloons for our party, she also went above & beyond to offer any help she could that day. Overall, I truly love living in these apartments & this community. Most of the unit have been remodeled or updated with all new appliances, cabinets, counter tops, & flooring. The clubhouse, weight room, fire pit & pool area are all beautiful amenities. The only reason I didn't give them a better rating on the upkeep of the grounds is because most of the tenants don't do a good job of picking up the poop after their dogs which is not the fault of the staff.
