*** UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM 5/14/17*** I lived there for 2.5 years and recently moved out in the past month. The last year I lived there was awful. Let's start with the electrical problems that caused my breakers to trip if I turned on a light at the wrong time or used the wrong outlet. They never figured out what was wrong and eventually the outlet on my balcony didn't work at all, I had to change where I had plugged in items that had been used in the same plug for over a year someplace else, and even had the outlets in my bedroom work for some thing, but not others. Next, how about the dripping of water in the ceiling of my living room. I was told it was "the pipes settling". I think I know what dripping water sounds like every time I heard a toilet flush in a neighboring apartment. I've actually contacted Jefferson County Public Health regarding this issue, as there is a good chance there is mold after 2.5 years of water dripping from pipes. I know of at least two other apartments that have had mold issues in the last 6 months. The third issue I had that was never fixed was that I took lukewarm showers for the last year I lived there. Water would be hot in certain faucets, but not others. Lastly, as has been mentioned multiple times, PARKING IS THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN. If you aren't home by 6pm, good luck finding a spot anywhere near your building most nights unless you pay extra for a garage or carport. The best part is that people who don't have the right parking permit take up spots and nothing is done about it. If and when the train ever opens, all the roads through the complex are public roads and anyone can park there. My biggest issue is that i was told if I renewed I would get new carpet put in. Never happened and they are now charging me over $400 to replace it now that I've moved out to live with my fiance. They claim they have no documentation of this, but they had not problem taking over $2500 from me to break my lease. That of course they had on file! Stay away from this place there is a reason there are so many apartments available here! **After doing nothing but threatening me with collections and not addressing the big issue I had in the email except to say they are right and I am wrong about the carpet needing replacement via email, I had to pay so my credit is destroyed. Had contact with Avenue 5 at the corporate level and was told a regional person would contact me two different times and never did. What terrible customer relations! Very disappointed with this place after such a great first year.
