Reviewed 10/27/2015
My husband and I rented from Summit (279 Main Street) for about 9 months. Overall we were happy with the location but the staff are a nightmare to deal with. There were numerous times when maintenance staff had to come to make the same repair to our toilet, mailbox and our back door. They also changed the locks on us and did not give us a replacement key or any warning beforehand, and there was one occasion when we had to prepare for significant maintenance to be done to the apartment with less than 24 hours' notice. There is high turnover with the office staff and they are incredibly unresponsive. We gave notice that we would not be renewing our lease almost two months before the end of our lease. Following our move out date, we were told that we did not give sufficient notice and are being charged nearly $400. We asked the staff to investigate, which took them nearly two months, during which they didn't respond for weeks on end, and in the meantime they sent the debt to a collections agency. I have heard no response from them on this matter since then. Our apartment itself needed some updating. The kitchen was woefully small with poorly painted, outdated, tiny cabinets. The rest of the apartment was fairly spacious with good lighting. The apartments are very noisy and it's very easy to hear your neighbors, especially the person below us. The garbage and recycling dumpsters were pretty much constantly overflowing. The storage area is not kept clean and is infested with spiders and cobwebs. Based on these serious complaints I would not recommend Summit to anyone.
