Resident 2009

12/4/2009

Okay, here is my genuine feelings about Hartford 21. I lived here for a year and this place has everything that you can imagine. It is more effort-able than New York high rises, that's for sure. Every thing is very nice, appliances, washer dryer, valet parking bla bla bla...However, it is darn HARTFORD!!! There is nothing here, it is in the middle of nowhere. Building is surrounded with bunch of bars and extremely expensive restaurants on a four block area and that's it. You can't go anywhere close if you want to walk. Closest movie theater is in west Hartford. If you're hungry and need to have a cheep dinner forget about it. Just die. Everywhere closes early except the high end restaurants. There is absolutely nothing available in terms of causal entertainment unless you have a fortune to spend. Okay, about the amenities. You pay for all of them!!! It used to be free but not anymore. You have to pay 700 yearly for amenities and 150 a month for valet parking. Apartments are very small. Building is extremely safe high-end card swipe system. But who cares? If you're reading this you're one of the unfortunate relocation victims in this recession. You don't know anything about hartford and thinking it is a nice building and you should rent from there. If you're determined these are the questions you should ask yourself: -Does it worth paying 800 more a month to this place than a regular apartment that you can find in west hartford. What does this 800 buys that you can't find in a regular apartment? hmm a swipe card, a view of nothing, smiling and nice staff and you will rarely need their help. I don't know...It is just a matter of your life style. If you're making so much money and don't care about it, go ahead it is your place, there are a lot of people like you in this building. Age is between 20-35 in the building. The ages of irresponsibility and wasting. I made good friends in the building but besides that, i am extremely regretful about my decision. The luxury of the building is not free, you only pay for your small apartment. Fees and bills will increase your expenses drastically. If you have a car insurance, i assume you do and expect it to increase $50 a month when you move here. So think twice folks. Don't jump. It is beautiful nice, makes you look rich, feel safe etc. but if you're making less than 5k a month don't even think about it, and this only for one bedroom apartments. These are just advices, decision is up to you. I didn't lie about anything. Don't believe the negative comment about boxy bad apartments. It sounded like a competitors comment. It is decent in the apartments but small. Anyways good luck with your search. Try West Hartford for a more convenient and fun place.
