Ardenwood Apartments Homes
Resident • 2004 - 2005 Not Recommended
Had lived there since 2004. About 90% of all former and current residents have complained about the recent management changes and the unnecessary nitpicking from the staff. The apartments are nice in appearance compared to most in the area, however be prepared to cough up a lot of cash each month. The breezeways need working and the walls in the apartments are paper thin (you can actually hear people living next to you talking, their toilets flushing, their bathtub water splashing and other undesirable noises). There are certain long time residents that constantly complain of noises and children, so be aware of your potential new neighbors. The maintenance staff is nice and prompt with service, though. There is a nice playground for older children, however, if you have small children (4 years or younger), there isn't any play equipment there that is safe for them. Unlike other Avalon communities, there are only 2 other entertainment amenities available which includes a fitness center (that is nice) and a seasonal outdoor pool. However, playing rules are strictly enforced, therefore children are restricted to many activities outside. Unfortunately, it is probably due to the fact that the community is extremely small, therefore leaving no areas for play. Most that lived here agree that the community is not family friendly at all. It is mainly catered to those who are single with no children or to the elderly. Management stated to the residents that there would be a monthly breakfast at the clubhouse, but only two had occurred in the last 15 months. They give one summer BBQ to the community and a hayride for children for Halloween. Both activities need improvement in order to attract larger community participation. Obviously, there are lots of things for Avalon Haven to improve on, especially since they have been trying to draw in new residents for the last few months.
