Pretty good place to live in for those whose offices are in Shelton. I am from India and this review is specifically for other folks like me who are new to the country and looking to settle down for the first time.
Pros:
- Shoprite and Shop & stop are 0.7 (1 kms) miles walking distance.
-Bus service (22X) bang on the front of the community from Monday to Friday. For weekends you have to catch the bus 15 whose stop is approximately 0.5 miles (700 meters) walking distance. 22X takes you to shelton, bridgeport and hawley lane mall. 15x takes you to the city of shelton and derby.
- Nice walking track near the community at BIC approx 100 meters away. Its besides the lake and a nice safe place.
-Absolutely safe place for women and children (Check out the crime score, no major crimes around here)
- Many eating places including burger king, dunkin donots, etc are at a walking distance. Bigger stores like Walmart and Bigy are on the bus route (15)
Cons:
-Laundry is outside the house which can sometimes prove tedious to go and fetch.
-Heating due to the old heating system can get expensive in the winters, my first bill came to $250. I bought new heaters from Walmart and the bill is now reasonable at 100-150$
- No Gym (compared to communities in Hamden). There is a gym around half a mile away which charges $10 a month
Overall a great place to stay for families.
