Resident 2016 - 2017

5/31/2017

If you are considering this living here please head my warning. I acknowledge running an hold dilapidated building probably is not easy. I've lived in 4 states over the last 10 years - I have NEVER come across anything like this. The entire building as an odd odor emanating through it and there was a near weekly instance of the fire alarm going off (sometimes for hours on end). I don't want to seem dramatic here. I have never complained at a restaurant, never left a bad yelp review. The last 12 months have left me feeling obligated to save anyone from making the mistake of buying a condo or renting from an owner. The building itself is in terrible condition yes, but for me that's tolerable. Whats intolerable is the behavior of almost everyone employed to help run this place. (The condo owners have all been great people, i was tipped that i may have made a mistake on move in when numerous condo owners made a point to tell me about how poorly the place is run) In the interest of time I'll just go through the purported AMENITIES and SELLING points. They have three "desirable" features 1. A Gym that was locked and closed for the entirety of my lease 2. A pool - Want a guest on the weekend? Well they must be registered and paid for in the office during the week. Great feature for weathermen? (pro tip: call ahead! management is NEVER there on off hours. And RARELY there during the day.) 3. 24/7 Security- This one may take the cake. From the first week at the complex i was struck by many of the guards on duty being combative and insulting. One specific security guard, Kirby Joseph, made an impression on almost everyone he encountered. He would intimidate and aggressively question anyone unlucky enough to pull into his lot. I get it safety first but this was different. Early into the lease my roommate, running late, forgot to bring his HID sensor card for exiting the lot. "Thank god we have a security guard" When approached by my roommate, who attempted to kindly ask him if he could raise the gate (which id seem him do before) Kirby began to yell "THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM!- GET AWAY FROM MY BOOTH!" I sort of brushed the story off- Hey people have bad days and i thought he may have had a bad experience recently with a jerk resident. This was only the beginning. After a few visits from friends, family and worst of all my parents i found that almost every one of them greeted me with a story of how the security guard (always kirby) made them feel threatened. 5 Months into my stay I had an issue with my windshield wipers and left the car to be serviced- one of our senior staffers at my company agreed to pick me up for work during this time. Same story, I took an uber the second day to avoid conflict. The visits became almost non existent as those who came were at best uncomfortable and I personally was ASHAMED to live at the fountain terrace. Also want to move in? 200$ non refundable and a $500 deposit. How about moving out? Also $200 with $500 security deposit. Management provides zero help and has no service elevator. Your only option for moving in is during weekday mornings. I wish I had more time to go through every mind boggling instance.
