There are a lot of hard working people on our team that care deeply about creating a better life for our residents and trying to make sure the community is anything but ghetto. I'm sorry to hear that the items listed in your review don't align with the level of service our teams work hard each day to provide. Here at the corporate office we review the timeliness of maintenance repairs on a weekly basis and the vast majority of issues are dealt with in 24-48 hours. Like any company we do experience staffing challenges from time to time which can stretch the team thin. We recently filled another full-time maintenance position, so prompt service should be the norm moving forward. In reference to your comment about welcome mats it is worth noting that they are not allowed at any of our communities due to their potential as trip hazards. A big part of the job for our managers is to assure that policies are enforced. When the parking policy requiring stickers was rolled out, it was done so to make sure that residents had as convenient access to spots as possible. To achieve this goal, the towing company operates under the assumption that any car without a sticker must not be a resident car and should be removed. Numerous methods of communication were used across a substantial time-frame to inform everyone of the need to have the mandatory parking stickers in place. It is not our goal to tow resident cars, but rather to make sure non-residents are not taking up your spaces. Our teams do their best to be flexible and help find a time that works best for any meetings or leasing tours. The feedback I have received from other residents about our team members seems to be very different from your description. I am very proud of the challenging work our team members do each day. They care about building relationships with residents and they work incredibly hard to make sure that home is place where you can enjoy a quality life. I'm sorry to hear that this hasn't come across to you thus far, but I hope that the team can earn your respect in the future. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about Southwood Square. We are sorry to hear that your experience has not been positive thus far. We would like to have a more in depth conversation with you to better understand the specific issues so we can hopefully work to resolve them. Please call or email the management center to set up a time to speak with us. We strive to address noise complaints whenever they occur. In order to do so we need information about the location/times of the issues so we can contact the residents involved and begin the process of formalizing any lease violations. Dealing with noise and other lease violations can sometimes be a timely process. If the residents don't comply with the initial warnings we need to continue to document then move toward evictions if the problems persist. If you could always notify us about any issues it will help us try to resolve them so they will no longer be a nuisance to you or the vast majority of residents who treat their neighbors with respect. As for your maintenance concerns, We have had some times this year when requests took longer than usual due to being short staffed. We always try to fill open positions as quickly as possible as we understand that when someone's missing, we can't fix things as quickly as usual. In the future we will work harder to communicate if there will be longer than expected delays for any reason. Our team cares a lot about making sure you receive the level of service you deserve as a resident. We apologize if in this case you feel that did not occur. As mentioned earlier, I hope you will stop by the Management Center so we can discuss your concerns and find solutions where possible. We will work to make sure your experience moving forward comes to match what you expected when you moved to our community. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with our team. Your input is valuable as we are always striving to make Southwood Square a better place to call home. As someone who has been here throughout our entire transition from Southfield to Southwood, you know what a unique community this is. There are many management challenges in a community such as Southwood Square and we do our best to meet those challenges as they present themselves on a daily basis. That being said there are certainly times when we fall short and need to do better. Part of our challenge over the past year has been due to high turnover on our maintenance team, I can assure you we are working to stabilize this issue so our residents should see the type of service they deserve moving forward. As for the lifeguard we are working through the challenges of finding a reliable person to take on this seasonal position. We agree that this important position should not jeopardize the enjoyment of the community swimming area for our residents. Lastly, in response to your concerns about the actions of others at our community I think it is important that all residents communicate issues as they see them to the management office or when appropriate, directly to the local authorities. Our management teams do our best to create a positive community environment beginning with credit and criminal background checks for all residents, followed by a clear set of rules set out within the lease documents at move-in. By communicating issues in a prompt manner to the management team or authorities, you can help make Southwood Square the type of community that we all want it to be.
