This is a good place for first time renter, like myself, but after a year there I cannot wait to leave. Before even moving in, we were told by the manager that the broken lamppost (which is currently a stump with exposed wires) would be fixed - a year and 3 months later it is still a stump with exposed wires. Upon inspecting the apartment at move in, we noticed that the vent in the bathroom does not work. We informed the manager and she told us it's just really quiet and to hold a piece of toilet paper up to it to show it's working - we did it right in front of her and the toilet paper fell to the floor and she said it's fine. Reminded her about it not working a year later and she told us to do the exact same thing. The windows are so drafty - in the winter we had our heat cranked to the highest setting, all of the windows and doors had towels and blankets on the bottoms to block out the cold, and the apartment never reached about 60 degrees even though the heat was constantly running. Our current problem though (probably because it got so much use in the winter) is that our A/C and Heating unit is not working. The apartment will be 84 degrees and we will turn the air on. We can hear the fan running, but no cool air is coming out of the vents. We contacted the manager on a Monday and she said someone would be in Tuesday morning to fix it. No one showed. We contacted her again on Wednesday morning and she said she couldn't get a hold of any of the maintenance personnel, but that she would have someone out on Thursday. Thursday still no one. We called her again and she acted surprised and dumbfounded and promised someone would be out Friday morning. It's currently that Friday afternoon and guess what.... still no one. Overall, it's a nice apartment for first-timers looking to rent for cheap. But pray nothing goes wrong because it will be ignored. Also, the laundry is way overpriced and everything comes out of the dryer wet and smelly, even after adding extra money in for more cycles.
