I've lived at Southwind for 2 1/2 years and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. When I first went to look at this complex a staff member assured me that the building is very quiet because it is made in the 1970's out of steel. Then she said she wouldn't charge me more because my unit had a pool view. They don't show you the actual unit until move in day but rather a pre-furnished model unit. Upon moving in I found that I can barely see the walk way that leads up to the pool and it's far from quiet. The floors squeek and crack extrememly loudly and I've been sleeping with ear plugs for the past few years. I had a mouse infestation and all the mgt company did was put down 3 or 4 sticky strips that never caught 1 mouse. Mouse droppings and urine were everywhere they ran including behind my appliances and even inside my stove and counter tops. Finally at my request they sealed up gaps in the walls with a sealant and it stopped them from coming in. The pool is nothing to get too excited about, next to it is a playscape for kids so it gets loud with moms yelling at their kids poolside. The pool is not heated and very cold even in Aug. The buildings are generally unsecure with broken front door locks and they are grimy and not well kept. I've found used condoms & broken liquor bottles in the parking lot, broken complex windows after a fight, & a unit fire above mine. Lastly, if you go month to month on your rent they jack up the fee's to over 12% of what your rent initially was. Living next to 91 sure doesn't have it's perks!
