I have live here for over 5 years, but in the spring of 2006 when my lease is up, it will be time to go. Others have mentioned that Capitol Park used to be very desirable, and it was. If you wanted to live in a residential environment, but still be in the city ,the scenery, environment and proximity were the best that D.C could offer. Around 2001 the management changed and things got bad. Now there are too many section 8 residents there. They act like they own the joint now and treat it just like the projects. They hang-out, socialize and buy drugs from each other. I have a neighbor who has had the police come to her door so many times that the security guards make her the butt of their jokes everyday! She is loud and blasts music all day, all while her little boyfriend pettles weed out of their apartment. There are even a few section 8 females who are trickin. The maintenance men change every 6 months, so problems go unsolved because no one keeps a record of what needs to be done. The vents are constantly breaking with leaks and one of the elevators goes out at lest once a month. If you are new to the D.C. area and excited about seeing the Capitol and all of the hype on the mall, then you will love it. If you just want a decent standard living that's competitive with other buildings in this area, forget about it.
