Resident • 2014 - 2015 Not Recommended
When I initially moved in, there were broken shelves in the closet and when I asked for the holes to be fixed in the screens (a pet likely lived in my apartment before me), they just put tape over the holes. I asked to have my door better insulated, because you can see the outside light since it's not sealed/insulated properly. For a 700 square foot apartment, I was paying well over $100 a month for gas, since my apartment wasn't heating properly. In fact, I didn't have heat most of last winter. The pilot light kept going out, and they were unable to fix it. On one night that was below freezing, the on-call maintenance guy got annoyed that I called for him to fix my heat 3 times...he actually told me to "turn on the oven and open the door" and "good luck tonight." I woke up the next morning, and it was 40 degrees in my apartment. He was only reprimanded. They refused to call a contractor and replace the unit despite its problems. I have literally submitted over 25 service requests for maintenance in the past year. Furthermore, in the summer part of my rent goes towards pool maintenance. The pool was rarely open on the weekends when I was around to use it since I work a full week (40+ hours). The lifeguards they hired and likely used my rent to pay for would be on phones the entire time, or decide not to show up. There have also been lots of issues with getting utilities bills, and lots of double-charging for things such as trash. Not worth the cost of what I pay to live here. Once my lease is up I plan to move somewhere else.
