I'm so depressed reading reviews for the apartments I'm looking at moving to (out of state) that I decided that I owed it to my current complex to write an honest review. I've been here for 3.5 years and have had a good experience. Utilities are very reasonable (1 br, $20 in winter and $40 in summer). This helps offset the slightly high rent. The complex is quiet and well maintained. Maintenance is great. They have always been respectful and kind. When I have a maintenance request, I walk over to the leasing office and tell them in person and watch them type it into the computer. I've had problems with calling requests in. If I see them type it in, the job will get done fast. Most of the guys live in the complex, which I think is one of the reasons they are so great.
The leasing office has a rotating chair of employees. Since I've been here, there have been really great ones, really incompentent ones and really grouchy ones. You deal with them infrequently, so what does it really matter?
I've heard of some people having terrible neighbors, but I have several friends in different buildings and they all have good ones. No matter where you live, you might get stuck with not so great neighbors. Of the choices in the area, I am very happy with Pinebrook, esp compared to other available complex. The Udel bus comes through, which halps if you don't have a car. It is about 1 mile from campus. There are hassles (I've had a leaky ceiling, oven out, etc.), but do you know of any homeowners or apartment renters that never have a hassle?
