Resident 2017 - 2018

1/23/2019

DO NOT IGNORE THE LOW RATED REVIEWS. For anyone looking to lease an apartment here, let me list down a couple of good things about this place. However, let me tell you the cons outweigh the pros. Pros: 1. Move in process is very quick. Guess they want you to move in fast and then you can go to hell 2. Pool area looks pretty, specially at night 3. They have a Pool table but it is worn out 4. Leasing office is very clean 5. Nice looking carpet in the apartment Cons: This ain't a boutique apartment, who are they kidding. It is almost laughable to see that they call themselves one, what nerves. Here is what I had experienced during my stay: 1. Dog filth everywhere - piss in elevator, alleys, pool, hot tub, garage, dog park. Elevators stink all the time. Residents are to be blamed for this. However, Satori should enforce strict regulations which clearly they don't. All they did was sent an email, once, never worked 2. Dogs are unleashed most of the times and some aren't really well behaved. 3. Pool is always cold and never the right temperature. Using Hot tub gave me allergy so I stopped using it. Too much chlorine in it and I am not sure how often they clean it. There was dog poop next to it for few days, no one cleaned it. 4. They claimed to have a co-working space on the second floor of the leasing office and computers for taking print outs. When we actually needed to take a print, we noticed one computer is always broken and another doesn't work. Printer is always out of ink. When I told a lady at the leasing office to have someone fix the computer, she said "Well, we can't do anything, I can't fix it". Never went back again and instead went outside for print. While moving in, don't let them fool you saying that those ancient machines actually work. 5. Parking is horrendous for a so called "Boutique" apartment. The parking lot is congested and has unnecessary bumps that literally spoils car tires. God luck finding a spot after 4 PM which is because there are tons of reserved spot for $180/month. To use the garage you pay $50/year but then be ready to walk, cross buildings and take multiple elevators to reach home FROM YOUR CAR. It's like an exercise, which is good for you but not when you come back home after grocery shopping. Guest parking has very few spaces too, most of the parking spaces are for retail. There is a west parking lot, but they tow away vehicles there and that too by a very low rated towing company. Well at least they could have used a good company, but well what do you expect from Satori. 6. Neighborhood: Yes, it is close to Las Olas but this is just off of Sunrise Blvd, which is always noisy. At night, we sometimes wake up by loud noise and can barely keep the patio door open. It is right next to Travel Lodge which is allegedly a prostitution and drug hub. The area isn't very walkable even during day time. People pass comments when we walk just up to Publix for grocery. Have seen cop cars very often inside Satori. 7. Home appliances although GE, feels very low quality. The dishwasher doesn't clean dishes very well, the dryer doesn't dry clothes well and the water filter feels cheap quality. I don't think they change water filters. The wooden flooring is chipped off but they don't care to fix it, they just tell you to mention this on a document before moving in. 8. Hallway carpets are so filthy that I feel bad for my shoes. Heard they were going to change these, but that was heard a year back, no action. Why not just have a usual flooring if you can't clean the carpet! They seem to worry about what music to play on the third floor bridge. Clearly, they have their priorities wrong, that's assuming they have one. Oh yes, they do - how to churn out more money for the mediocre services they provide. 9. They have a Resident Portal to pay bills. After reading some reviews that their charges are not correct, I noticed that they charged me almost double for a month. When raised it to the office, they chickened out. I wonder how much extra money have I been paying before I noticed it. Alas! 10. Don't even try calling the Leasing office for anything. They never answer. And I am telling you THEY NEVER ANSWER CALLS. It's always routed to an outside location who will have the office call you back. But of course, you will NEVER receive a call back. NEVER EVER. The Leasing office is always understaffed. You go there and they are out showing apartments to probable residents. The ladies at leasing office are rude, even if they know you are standing outside waiting to speak with them, they pretend that they didn't see you. 11. This isn't a smoke free neighborhood. You will be passive smoking at the pool, hot tub, garage, elevator and every other common sharing area. Again, Residents are at fault but hey Satori doesn't have any strict regulations. You will find cigarettes at most of the places here, which sucks. 12. Residents leave garbage wherever they can. 13. Pool is always too busy during holidays, residents invite friends who in turn invite their's. 14. Noticed that anyone can enter the pool, the key fob isn't needed to open it. It's so risky given that the neighborhood isn't safe. I never went to the pool after sunset by this fear. 15. I think it is just me, but I wouldn't want anyone living in a different building to have access to my building. The same key fobs work throughout Satori. When you open your window, residents from another building stare into yours, very uncomfortable. 16. Earlier while raising the work order, you had to explicitly give permission for maintenance to enter your apartment. Alter that changed and you didn't have a choice, you can't raise a work order without giving them the permission to enter when you are not home. I wonder if this is legal. 17. And of course, this place is too expensive for what it really is. Definitely a lot better places for the same price. I am taking time out to write this elaborate review, because we were fooled by these 5 star reviews online when clearly this place is a trash. Visiting this place is totally different from living here, always feel there is something fishy going on but the management does a good job to cover it up. Read that they deleted their old Yelp account and opened a new one, not hard to believe. Not sharing my real name because I do not want them to come after me but I have been aching to review them. Never have I ever seen an incompetent and filthy apartment like these.I have never lived in a "Boutique" apartment before and still an average apartment feels better this this.
