Madison Pointe Apartments

I lived in a three bedroom apartment in phase 2 for two years. My bedroom was huge, big enough for a king sized bed with tons of space left over. My closet was enormous as well, along with there being plenty of closet space upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen is large and the appliances are fairly new and well maintained. The parking situation is also pretty nice, with a garage and two assigned spots.

My only complaints were that the rent is fairly steep, although I felt it was worth the cost. Also, we did occasionally have loud neighbors. The bus route is horrible, but the drive to campus through 16th and 16th is a breeze. It's also a fairly short bike ride. The pool and gym facilities weren't the nicest, but I rarely if ever used them, in any of the apartments I lived in. We did have an XBox stolen shortly after moving in, but we learned our lesson and kept the doors locked whenever someone wasn't downstairs.

All in all, Madison Pointe was easily my favorite living situation in Gainesville. Our apartment was huge, and I much prefer that area of town compared to living off Archer or near the mall. I highly recommend phase 2, if you're willing to pay the fairly expensive rent. If not, a friend of mine has had no problems in phase 1. I also found the property manager to be friendly and helpful, but I can understand others having problems with her.
