If you are a grad student --> good place to live
No place is perfect but some come close.
Overall, I can say this place is pretty good after living in the dorms for my entire years of undergrad. I am living here for another year. But, if you are picky and want more details read below.

Pros:

If you like to study, it's a nice, quiet place. I have heard my neighbors 3 times in 9 months time.
If you like to sleep at night, still a good place.
For 1/1 it's pretty BIG
Nice size kitchen and dining room.
Parking is never a problem. I can park right outside.
You have a gas stove.
They put new carpet when I moved in.
They let you sign 9 month leases, so no worries for summer sublets.
the common ground are pretty clean and well maintained

Cons:
Shands Helicopters go over the neighborhood, and they have awaken me at night.
The office "manager" is a nice person, but as a manager, let me tell you she sux. I am being honest. She never returns calls, or writes back. If you have a problem, don't expect to be fixed right away. They are very slow at fixing things. Unless you go to the office in person, good luck getting anything done.
My downstairs neighbor's air vent for the stove, comes all into my bathroom. I know, the installation is pretty bad. Old apt complex and they haven't invested since no updated fixtures, windows, etc.
The waste management co. doesn't pick up the recyclables often. It makes me mad bc I think the maintenance guys throw them in the trash bin to make room in the recyclable bins.
Laundry room have no air, so in summer months you can pass out if the dryers are running bc it's so hot in the room. Cost $1.25 each for washer and dryer.
Electricity can run from $35-90 a month. It depends on the weather and if you keep the air on a lot. I can guarantee you that if you keep the air on a lot, you will be paying more than $60 a month, bc the units are old and waist more energy than necessary.

They are increasing the rent to $595 in Fall 2007. (water, garbage, pest control included).
Good luck finding a nice apt. It's a pain.
I hope this helped a little.Share This Review
