We moved here because it was in our price range. That is the ONLY reason why. Our apartment was next to Powers, and booming, drive-by bass was always present. The apartments are fairly big, but they're old and it shows. Our dishwasher never did work, despite having it "repaired" twice. As other residents have said, my car was vandalized as well (someone attempted to break in thru the sunroof. I had an alarm so they didn't get anything). Depending on what time you get home, you will have to park in BFE. I left for work at 5am every day and DID NOT feel comfortable walking thru the dark parking lot. Sure, there's a police sub station a block away...it doesn't really deter much of anything. We are fairly certain that one of our neighbors may have been "selling" out of his apartment, there were loads of cars in the FREAKING FIRE LANE and handicapped spots and people constantly streaming in and out of the apartment. To top it all off, the day we moved out, they turned off the water without warning (they'd one this a few times while we were living there too). It was impossible to clean the kitchen or bathroom without water, nor could we shampoo the carpets. Don't wait til the last minute! =) Anyway, the office staff said oh, no, it won't be a proble, we understand about the water being cut off. Yeah, well, I got $3.42 of our $500.00 deposit back. They somehow deemed it worthy to "replace" $400.00 worth of carpet (I'd be curious to know if it actually WAS replaced, because god knows it wasn't new when we moved in). If you're on a tight budget, they're roomy little starter apartments. Otherwise, shop around. Oh, and that "gated community" BS they like to advertise? The gate didn't work 90% of the time. Likewise, our "balcony" was mighty unsturdy. Don't have two people out there at one time! They repainted them while we lived there, and didn't even remove the old paint!!! You could see it flaking up underneath the new!
