I have never been so dissatisfied with a company as a whole. First it was just with the staff at The Cove so I reached out to "Regional Management" about my concerns. I feel so belittled and unimportant which is not how I should of felt as a potential renter. First I was excited to sign a lease with you, my admin and application fee were half off AND I get the month of June free. The only other thing I would pay would be the deposit at move in. NOW when I got the half off offer Toni told me it would charge me the full amount and then she would refund me the half. Told her don't refund I'll put the part I was getting back towards the deposit and I would pay the difference. She told me that was a great idea and 85$ would be my difference, I was happy. When I was told my move in date I was excited. I week until I can move in, great. As the week went by I didn't get a phone call or any kind of confirmation. So I called the office and left a message. They got back to me 2 days later and said there was a delay and it would be Wednesday. Ok, that's fine I appreciate it. The Tuesday before I called again and had to leave yet another message, mind you I'm calling during normal business hours and never had someone pick up. No call back. I called back Wednesday and left yet another message. Surprise. When I did get a call back from Toni the manager she said she asked Sonia to call back. I told her that I haven't received a phone call about anything and I was getting skeptical. She apologized and said there was a water leak in the apartment and they had to fix the wooden floor in one area so it would be next week sometime. I said OK again I'm kind of concerned about the constant delays and she said the offer she gave me to give me the rest of June free she would carry into July. I said, thinking that was a good deal. As I further thought about it you can't fix water damage on wooden floors in a couple of days. Would I be reprimanded in the future if mold occurred and have to fight for my deposit? I let it go and figured I would address the issue when I FINALLY got my keys. Tuesday came around and I'm waiting until 11am to call them and get a status. Left message, obviously. Didn't get a call back until FIVE PM!! The office closes at 6!! Sonia called and said the keys were ready if I wanted to come get them. I said no ma'am I have been waiting all day, I called early to find out when they would be ready. Her reply " Yes, I heard your voicemail earlier but I didn't have anything to say so I didn't call you back. Maintenance man came in and told me this morning that you apartment wouldn't be ready until later." I replied with, well a courtesy call would of been nice, I've had to be the one to call you guys every time and it seems a bit foolish.I'm not having high hopes that when I finally do move in I'll be taken care of. My day has already ended and I have ONE HOUR to come pick up my keys? She says I can come in tomorrow to get them. No ma'am I work 9am-8pm job and there's no time until next week for me to get the keys. At this point I'm done. I no longer want to lease and that's unacceptable customer service from them. I go in and talk to Toni and tell her I want to cancel the apartment.She asks me when and I tell her everything. She's fighting me on my decision and I just tell her no I'm not doing it. She then says OK and starts to walk away. I ask her about getting my money back and she looked at me like I was crazy. She then argued that I don't get anything back. I explained to her the deal she gave me with the half off. She said no I don't get that back because we put it towards the deposit, Yeah you put it there because I asked you to. She said no she offers it that way to everyone and she would never tell me I was getting it back. I told her NO putting it towards my move in was MY idea and you said it was a great idea. So In this small office with another potential renter in her office she's having an argument with me. I'm beyond unhappy with the treatment I have been given and would not recommend this place to anyone.
