Resident 2019 - 2020

This community draws you in with a fresh coat of paint all over apartment, including the bathtub and shower. Yes, as soon as you sign your lease and take a couple showers or attempt a bath (the water is green) the paint falls off. You must always drink bottled or filtered water and make your own ice cubes. The view from the kitchen window of the 2 bed 2 bath is garbage cans and flies on any given occasion. Seems like this is their preferred dumping ground. You can't open the front door without flies coming in. The second bedroom windows didn't lock for over 8 months and you'll see photos of their maintenance remedy. A silver bolt that you screw in. A fire and safety hazard. It takes forever to get something fixed and they send someone several times but nothing is ever fixed or corrected. Feel free to look at photos and read captions so you can see proof of what I am saying. There are termites in the upstairs apartment that are so bad you can see them swarm. I'm in building 337. In building 112 they come out of the light fixtures. The roof has a leak from the upstairs tenant and I hear there's termites between my ceiling and her floor. Their solution, paint the ceiling where leak was white. The strip is magnificent and the ocean is beautiful but there are lots of properties on the island that offer more for less. I'm currently in the 2 bed 2 bath Unit 1 in building 337 and have bee here for over a year. We just got patio furniture but no BBQ and we've been waiting since Dorian. The landscapers start trimming and blowing very early and it's loud enough to wake the entire building up. What's worse is they leave all the leaves and dirt on your porch. Very saddening especially for someone who sweeps everyday to keep the dirt out. And yup, lots of dirt comes in through the front door. It's all tile so you must sweep/mop several times a day. Check out their utility charge billing system before signing any lease. You are not billed by an electric, water or trash company. They bill you according to a system they never discuss when signing your lease. If they do they say it's all included but what they don't say is you are not paying for the utilities of just your unit, it's prorated. Utilities in this unit are usually between $100-$150. If you are a family laundry to wash and dry outside is $3.00 per load it adds up quick. I spend at least $120 if not more per month on laundry which never comes out very clean. The washer shoots water out of the washing machine and service folks have come to fix but as usual, it's still the same. Sadly these folks gauge you anyway they can and have no regard for tenants. They just painted the building yellow and the floors tan - the paint is also falling off. Cheap all the way around but want to charge you an arm and a leg. Also, watch the late fees, $125 plus $75 if you pay after the 3rd. Read the fine print before signing. Good luck home hunting!
