At close of 2017, wife and I spent two months looking for two-bedroom, two-bath apartment or condo rental. Prices ranged from $1,700 to $2,200+/month (for brand new apartment home with garage). We found Planation Colony and really liked the look of the place. With various add on fees (including water and sewer) we’re paying less than $1,700. Community quite with great landscaping; a bit of a refuge from the South Florida urban environment. No neighbor noises. No loud music. Well maintained pools and barbeque area with tiki huts. Plenty of parking. Buildings and appliances a bit dated, but excellently maintained. Both bedrooms large. The few maintenance requests we had resolved within one or two days. Staff friendly and helpful (where else do they handout goodies in the parking lot on Valentine’s Day morning). Within close or reasonable (albeit adventuresome) walking distance to Lucky’s, Publix, Whole Foods, LA Fitness, Costco, Home Depot, and many other chain and local stores and restaurants. Directly off I-595/University interchange. Broward County Transit Bus Route 30 bus stop in front of complex. Linear park adjacent to complex (for walking/running without worrying about traffic).
