Resident 2011 - 2012

6/6/2012

There were problems with the unit upon arrival. The management office lacked a key to the unit prior to my move in date. So rather then call a lock smith, they broken into the apartment, compromising the integrity of the door frame. instead of replacing it, they nailed the wood pieces back together. Then my apartment, and the one next door, flood in spring of 2012. The office receptionist was not aware that my apt flooded and informed me that they would replace my carpeting like they did for the adjoining unit. moved all my furniture to the kitchen for their convenience and was informed that they instead are just going to clean the carpet. after the flood and the carpet being cleaned, there was still a fowl smell, the vinyl molding in the bathroom was falling off the wall and there was discoloration on the walls. i brought it to the attention of the office and they told me they did all they were suppose to do for me in the unit. less then 3 months later, my apartment flooded once again. this time it flooded my entire bedroom. i was home for summer, and instead of calling to inform me of the "minor water damage," they sent an email. upon returning to my apartment i find my furniture scattered throughout my living room, my air conditioning running constantly on high (though i was not living there for the month of may) and it was not minor water damage. The damage to the apt was extensive. pink and yellow mold was growing throughout the bathroom, closet, vanity and bedroom. Carpet was pulled up along all the walls in the areas that were just mentioned and their way of "fixing" the mold was to drill holes in the base of the walls. well it is now the following month and have asked them to return the money for last months rent, move me to a new unit with assistants and pay the electric bill where they ran 3 industrial fans throughout my bedroom for one week and left the air conditioning (which doesn't turn off) on high. today they TRIED to comply with one demand of moving me into the best unit available and this is what i found: broken kitchen cabinets in the kitchen, dead bugs in the living room, smell of feces throughout the unit, ugly purple walls in the bedroom and MOLD throughout the bathroom and onto the ceiling! there is no acting manager. DO NOT LIVE HERE. i told them in spring something was wrong and now I've become aware that numerous units in my building have had issues with water damage and learned today that other unit too face mold problems.
